Vortex sounded better in Dimmu Borgir. I love Arcturus but you just cant replace Garm. To be fair, I was pretty excited about Simen taking over for Garm. I loved this clean vocals in Dimmu but THIS sounds nothing like THAT. Too bad too. Just listen to the track “Reptile” by Dimmu Borgir. Simen just sounds so much better in Dimmu.

@VycDarkshadow Every single song on the Shipwrecked in Oslo dvd sounds like the album version or better. I think Vortex cared more for Arcturus and Borknagar than anything else he did, so he always gave a better performance. that's my thought on it anyway.

I like your assessment . Vortex has an incredible voice. This album isn't 'The Sham Mirrors' but then it was never meant to be. It pushes the boundaries of metal in a different way.

I know I'm gonna get a load of shit for this but I've always found Vortex's voice to be better than Garm's at least for Arcturus. Both are great vocalists. I just think Vortex's vocals suit the band more, at least this DVD has convinced me to say so.
