  • CUTE!!!! :3

  • Epic job!!!!!! I love bats.It looks so real.Like U could reach out and touch it.

  • Whoa nice work there. I wish I had a program to do this kind of stuff.

  • Best Bat Animation on Youtube! I can't even believe how realistic it looks. I am almost scared to go near that thing! Geez, if that thing was wondering around at night, I have to say that I would be pretty spooked. I mean, how would you supposed to act! I am astounded that you have this much talent to create such a realistic image! Man I can't believe it! I messaged you Shiva, and I hope you got it! :) I love this animation! What program do you use, and how much time did it take you to make it?

  • @SnickersJumps Thank you. )

I work in 3dsmax. This model take about week for all.

  • Looks great!

Is that true Sub-Surface Scattering or something else?

I'm trying to figure out if I should model my bat's wings as 2 sided solid objects instead of the 1 sided 'thin wall' style I have at the moment. All the veins and stuff seem to look okay with just using various maps instead of SSS, and I'm worried about intersection errors as they will be so thin...

    Still... SSS would be cool.

  • @Hooch99999 No. its not SSS, its Translucensy. I used Scanline materials with translucency, but Vray for GI.

You right, if you do Solid but thin wing its can intersect themself on animation and make a problems on render. But you can use 1 sided wing for animaton/defirmation and use it as driver(skin wrap) for a solid model. ;)

  • very realistic
