if the female is too old her pelvis has usually closed, they often get 1-2 dead babies and after they are infirtile.. I have had that happened to one of mine.. the pelvis closes as early as 6 months on some rats, or she might be infirtile by nature. It is not common to not have babies when you have a female and male together.. however you might also have two males, they can retract their balls when scared looking like a female... just a thought..
