Sleepwalk is my favorite instrumental of all-time, hands down, and I would be crushed to hear it botched. Let's just say Modest Mouse definitely doesn't botch this. @ydabom They were on drugs when they did this and were like only 19 or so. It is actually good. Modest Mouse is not modern. They were around for about 20 years man. This was made in 1996 when the band was on an independent label, so for what they had, they did well. By the way. Modest Mouse is awesome. Their lyrics are very sophisticated and what not so I suggest you give them a try if you want to.

I saw on Wikipedia that Modest Mouse recorded a cover of this classic, and I was so excited and rushed to find the song on YouTube. Needless to say, I am disappoint.

@pepperandroses lol. Well, you said "Needless to say" so it prompted my that response from me..i thought it was pretty when i first heard it. Didnt mind so much that it was a cover..As long as a cover is heartfelt ill dig it usually. Lenny Kravitz or however you spell his name covering American WOman was just awful. I dont think Mosdest MOuse ruined the original personally..And with all the bad music nowadays..i dont see how this is bad. lol. Just the same though..The original is the original..

@pepperandroses I think its no different really then a friend or somebody sittin around playing music and covering old classics that they love. Classics that they know turned them onto creating their own music. You wouldnt tell a guy on the street expressing himself and covering santo and johhny for fun because they feel the way you do about the song would you? I think whoever is at the top gets rocks thrown at them whether they are great or just so so or flat out bland and pointless. lol

@Surnameist I couldnt agree more. Isaacs lyrics cant evn be compared with another band. Theyre so damn good live too. Ive been to 3 shows and plan on going to many more once thrye on tour again that is. if u havent been to a show u definatly need to. The combo of isaacs lyircs and how good they r live makes them one of the best bands ever.

11 seconds ago Im positive Modest Mouse thinks the utmost of Sa;nto and Johnny. Its quite obvious. Im positive they would tell you it is their favorite version and the best. ;^) Well, theirs is a version on the original of course. Some people say it isnt a cover but its pretty blatant to a listening ear that the song inspired this one and its base essence and composition is the foundation for their version. But what do i know. Thats my best guess
