Those tanks also get hotter than the smaller canisters like propane or mapp gas, which mapp gets hotter than propane.. Ofcourse you can get dual tip (turbo) torches for the canisters to give more heat, our gas man uses such for brazing. Most of our rough-in guys use the bigger tanks like you have there, specially for larger diameter pipe 2" + ..

Big Tony! I have to change my old oil tank and install a new one. I want to save money so I'm doing it myself. The tank is in the basement and the feed line is in the cement floor from the tank to the furnace burner. I need all the help I can get, I want to do it right the first time.
