Indeed this day has been indoctrinated into generations of Americans. I was told in elementary school that only 2000 Native People were killed. With research I am currently believing the more accurate number estimate of 18,000,000 Natives suffered and died at the hands of the narrow minded puritans and other heartless greedy groups. Domination of the entire Asian and South Pacific part of the world. 30 million Chinese had been systematically murdered. Just surviving a winter back then was an major accomplisment. Often, half the inhabitants of a community died before winters end. Isn't it wonderful to sit in a warm cozy safe enviroment of today and judge these people.

Notice how this woman talks in the video as though she was speaking to a 3rd grade class of kids. Why does she talk like this? She also tries to give the impression as many do that the Indians were just wonderful peace loving people. Read up on it, the Indians had many wars amongst themselves. They engaged in slavery and torture. They had ways that could take 4 days of torture before the victim expired. Some of what she says is true sure, but she omits much of the truth to favor her agenda

For example, small pox was a disease that no one knew anything about like how it was spread. This woman talks about it like it was used as a weapon to destroy people. I noticed this woman didn't mention that Squanto was rescued from slavery in Europe by a white man and brought back to the place of his birth. I also noticed that this woman didn't mention that Squanto attempted to start a war between a particular tribe he was at odds with and the Pilgrims. His deceptions were uncovered by the parties involved and the tribe betrayed by Squanto wanted to kill him but he was saved by the intervention of the Pilgrims.

I understand that there were bad things happening before and after the first Thanksgiving. But the pilgrims and Native Americans DID have a peaceful time and started the grand tradition, no matter how twisted the puritans made it later. The pilgrims were not to blame, and I still find it a blessing that there was one moment in history so uniting as that first feast.

If they weren't murdered off by plague or bloodshed they were sold off into slavery. And why weren't the pilgrims to blame?
