@larissakaylene Thanks!! I agree the body language says everything, at first it was hard for me to tell but when u want to avoid a big bite from them u get to know the difference lol
This is the most awesome bird I have ever seen! I just recently got two parakeets and even though they can't talk their body language says it all just like bowie. But anyways, too cute you did an awesome job talking to this one!
Hahahah he says im sorry after biting you that SO cute. Im goining throw this dialogue with my inadian ringneck everytime he bites me, he is still 4 months hope he get it someday hehe
@mariahcareyfan90 He was already tame when igot him. He was hand raised and i just kept it up. Irns can start talking at a few mos. Bowie started at8 months. Males are more likely to talk...good luck with your new baby soon!
@Mekiozuke i would say they're for more experienced birds owners yes..it is hard to train them because they need to learn their boundaries - they so don't have any when they're babies! and it's easeir the younger they are:)
@jxh0703 ah ok, thanks I have had some budgies, one was tamed but the other one was bit stuborn, she doesnt bite me but does open her beak when I pass by and she's a bit to old now to train furter I guess and the one that was tamed was afraid of her
I'm thinking about getting a bird later on in life. I'm thinking I'd like a sun conure. I hear they're gentle birds. Is that true? And what do you suggest is the best way to keep them safe without clipping the bird's wings? I hear there is a way you can clip their wings so that they can still fly, but they won't be able to fly as fast so they're less likely to fly into something and hurt themselves
@RarestDragon hm, not sure about sun conures, but i know conures can be pretty active and very friendly. if you dont' want to clip wings, just make sure doors and windows are closed when they're out of their cages. or you can just clip a LITTLE BIT of couple of the longest secondary wings..it does take their flight down a lot...
@scanditube his ring doesn't show as much here, but in other videos it is very prominent. He was also DNA'd at 10 weeks so i knew he was male. the ring comes out at about 1 yr.
Haha you can feel proud while watching this video my budgie Said her first word "Whats that lily?" almost felt of my chair! (Lily is the budgies name and she looks scarongly like bowie:)
V.... Well "she's" an EXTREMELY loud bird!!!!!! Ive never heard a bird as loud as she is (my gosh) !!!! One scream from her she'll make your ears ring! We keep her in a cage a lot bc shes very mean and only likes certain people!
LMBO!!!XD! What did he say before you said "Excuse me"? I have that same bird minus the ring around his neck! We had him for 17 years (same age as me) and it still doesn't talk yet! We tried training him but it just doesn't work! How'd you get Bowie to talk so well?
@TheIhateselenagomez what mutation is yours? unless it's albino, if it doesn't have a ring, it's female! females don't talk as much as the males. wow 17 yrs! he prob is just the silent type? Bowie's been talking since 7 months. I got him hand-fed at 11 weeks. I just maybe talk a lot to him? repeat simple phrases & try to use them in association wiht somethig ....like when i leave I say bye like 10 times hahaha.
@Dynquaz I do only if I am up late and it needs to be dark for them but not for me. Now that I live in a different place and they have their own room, I don't put any covers on because they just sleep when the sun goes down :)...unless I take them out to play ;)
What a silly little Bowie!! The first was so funny, back and forth, up and down So funny whatever he was whispering when he looked inside the cage a couple of times. That angry bite! He REALLY didn't want to go to bed, did he? LOL He knew what that finger to the feet meant...inside the cage we go! I love how you talk with him. You are such a great Mommy! Those eyes at the end were a little wild, huh...."what's that!!" What an entertaining little fellow. Thank you for sharing. Good night!
It sounded like he was saying he was sorry after he threw his little temper tantrum on your hand. LOL So cute!! Yellow IRN are so adorable and bright smiley sunshiney colors.
@rita191919 Thanks Rita, yes he did say sorry after he bit! He completely understands I am angry even if I don't even say it! I also wince & never get too loud when he bites, but I think he knew he punctured some skin lol.
No wonder your birds are so well trained. You have a lot of patience with them!
Do IRN's have more moodiness or is that more just an individual personality quirk?
Your videos show the love and care you've given to each bird. Their personalities are allowed to shine and it's a joy to see them. Thank you for sharing them with us.
Thank you for sharing this video too, that shows sometimes they can get a little bit cranky when they don't want to do what they are told to do.
@moviemakerwannabe Thank u for your kind comments :))) I do think twice before I upload my videos of my brids being 'bad' :p
IRNs are senstive in general. It's also individual tempermants. Bowie is actually not too active or too loud. He just gets riled up right before bedtime cuz he doesn't want to go to bed.
