I don't like this form of grooming. I am not showing my westie so for me a simple trim with the clippers down the back then finish up with the scissors will keep me and my dog happy. :)
I have a poodle and I have say she is extreme in her look. But to watch you rip the dogs coat out for the sake of beauty is ridiculous even worst because your teaching others, I'm not ignorant either. THAT HURTS! For goodness sakes buzzy him! I hope AKC will wise up as well. Funny you cant find the someone hand stripping a Schnauzer bald for show.. ROLLING A COAT! Hush Hush! Same as bleaching dogs all over.. Worst part is these women are supposed to be the animal lovers. SCARY!
@harleythemacaw1 are you a groomer? No I didn't think so. If you were you would know that hand stripping doesn't hurt the dog. In fact most of the dogs I strip go to sleep on my table. Some dogs are just fidgety, she wasn't hurting him. As for 'ripping the coat out' , the coat is blown, meaning the hair is dead and already coming out on its own. Stripping is just a method of removing the coat. I'm sick of 'experts' like you coming on and slating groomers coz you know jack about what we do
I absolute dislike your videos and wish they would remove them. Why? Because this why groomers who take your course are trimming coats wrong. My favorite is your Schnauzer, Yikes! Your right I only show groom, what do I know?? I know about stripping a blown coat and I also know that dogs are taught to endure pattern stripping as well. Airedale and Schnauzer are the two I feel the most sorry for. Especially if someone is not rolling and is doing a pattern strip it can be very painful.
@harleythemacaw1 They're not my videos lol. Second it's not a course, they're DVD's for groomers so people take what they want from them and thats it really. Thirdly, if you knew anything about handstripping you would know that it is a painless procedure. Why else would I have dogs falling asleep on my table instead of yelping and trying to get away? The groomers in the video are experienced and well known in the grooming world, and have won countless awards. They know what they're doing.
@cazkelly1986 Yada, Yada. I got your point. I'm still going to disagree. Not all stripping painful but it would be a lie to say all dogs are fine. Look around before you keep blowing off steam. Feel free to keep replying back, I wont respond. I made my point and as much as you would love to keep at it I don't.
@harleythemacaw1 IF you were a professional, you wouldn't have used trimming and stripping even in the same paragraph. There is NO trimming going on...if your dogs are hurting while pulling out dead hair, you're doing it wrong. My dog likes to move but I know she isn't hurt. Shut up you're retarded
