It would be good to know how many assists shearer got for rovers actually. He used to assit loads aswell as scoring. But back then, they never used to really record stats, so it's hard to find out just how many. Legendary player. Best english striker i've ever seen by far, rooney isn't a 10% of shearer.

people always associate shearer with newcastle and he's known as a newcastle legend. but his record with blackburn is actually better. 130 goals in 171 appearances for blackburn vs 206 goals in 404 games for newcastle. england is really missing that kind of player
