Professional wrestlers do not have any better knockout tolerance than "your average Joe", here's a newsflash; pro wrestling is fake, so are the 'punches' thrown in it. Professional fighters (Muay Thai, kickboxing, MMA, boxing) for the most part do have better knockout tolerance, otherwise they would not have been able to survive in the pro ranks (there are exceptions or course).

@RebelWrestler45 I've seen a show on Discovery where a fighter was punched in the ear with the force that would knock out an ordinary man, and he was OK. I'm saying that a trained fighter's skull is thicker :) + I don't think they're allowed, in an official fight, to hit an unconscious opponent.

@aand Apparently you haven't seen any MMA fights before, especially back in Peide, fighters would get hit several times after they were unconscious, before the ref stepped in, perfectly legal. Anyways, knockout tolerance is an inherent physiological trait, it cannot be learned, practiced, or conditioned; one can learn how to deal with getting 'rocked' and get used to the feeling, but their knockout threshold will not increase.

@fatsomamacheese Fights are stopped when the referee decides to stop it; Pride is famous for late stoppages, as was the old UFC. Very often the referee is at a bad angle to view the action, or is out of position to make a timely stoppage; happens in amateur fights as well. Under optimal conditions, a fight is stopped when a combatant is no longer able to defend himself, optimal conditions rarely exist in the cage, for both combatant and official alike.

check out Wanderlei Silva vs Yuki Kondo; Kondo was unconscious from a left hook, and Wanderlei proceeded to land six headstomps; inflicting far more damage than some kicks from an unathletic McDojo black belt that we saw in the Blythe fiasco. If you recall, my original point was that the injuries inflicted in said event were not necessarily severe enough to yield death; as we have seen fighters in professional MMA absorb much more damage after unconsciousness, and survive.

Wandy was hanging onto the ropes rabbit kicking Kondo, who's head was not on the mat. The two stomps landed on the homeless guy were literally full body stomps.

Ethan. Many medically qualified people have seen the footage of the assault and have expressed serious concern about the welfare of the victim. The fact is that many people have died following less severe assaults. It is also true that many people have survived even worse assaults. At this point we do not know whether the victim survived this potentially fatal assault. The board stomping is just a cheap trick, not an indication of strength.
