philip seymor hoffman scored so many bit parts before he started getting main parts. one of the most underrated actors of our time. the guy just kills it on camera.

Rumour has it that the main character of this movie is based on the life of Rev. A.A. Allen (1911-1970). Didn't Steve Martin grow up in the Assemblies of God as a youngster in Texas?
