I said what I said not to bring sadness to our gay youth but to bring awareness to those Christians who condemn them.
I was a Baptist preacher and later active in the AG. Through a series of events the Lord convicted me to come out. I had honestly thought that I just had gay feelings and if I prayed, fasted, abstained, confessed my desires and was anointed with enough oil so that I could be set free. Nothing worked. I came out at age 59 or 60. After I did gay Christian youth contacted me.
I have prevented Christian gay youth as young as 12 from taking their life. Many others are struggling with deep depression. Some of my youth have tried to burn themselves to death, others hanged themself, slit their wrist or throat, and one was going to jump off a cliff. One boy lay under his sheets each night with his dad's shotgun in his mouth. Another, the 13 yo son of a fundamental pastor went from a fun-loving witnessing kid to being put on anti-depressants to cure him.
i'm an atheist but this is pretty cool.
