  • To be honest, I've watched y'alls videos for a while now, and I was a walleye bass fisherman, and I keep seeing these catfishing videos, so I decided to take up catfishing, and after going catfishing twice, doing decently the first time catching one at 18.5 lbs, I caught a skinny 36" which weighed in at 13 lbs, and I must say I have y'all to thank for that amazing fish!!

  • @buggyblah thats cool man - nice fish.

i like a variety of fishing but catfishing is right up near the top of my list

  • @ROADSNAKE90ROADSNAKE Yeah, round my area we only got crappie, a variety of catfish with channels being the smallest of the big 3 round here, large and smallmouth, perch, and walleye, the native brookies don't get big and we have stocked rainbows, so not as much variety as y'all have up there

  • Mike! That is a big fish!

  • Hey, this is for anyone who knows. Are you able to put 50 lb test line on a pole/reel that says 8-15 lb test?

  • Your videos are awesome. I just got done making up a couple tubs of chicken liver bait like u showed in your video. Hopefully i can get some good video to reciprocate the catfish power>

  • what do u use2 catch drum

  • @madfishinskillz i was casting a white mr twister tail for bass and the drum grabbed it

  • @ROADSNAKE90ROADSNAKE i was wondering do you fish with dip bait occasionally ?

  • @MegaCatfishman1 THE CANOE is a SAWYER - they don't make em anymore.

very stable canoe even without the outriggers.

got to be careful buying a canoe - some are very unstable and not good for fishing.

i bought mine at at canoe store that had a pond on site for testing them out - tried a few that were real tippy before i picked the SAWYER

  • nice T shirt...haha

  • What was the water temp? And the air temp? hell of cats man.

  • ok 2 questions... 1- have u ever gotten stung by the thing that the catfish have? And do the catfish u catch have teeth?

  • ok 2 questions... 1- have u ever gotten stung by the thing that the catfish have? And why didnt u guys bring ur catfish rods?

  • @KidODeath500 i've been stung but not in a long time.

we had out cat rods but i brought a lighter set up for casting jigs

  • 2:29 bomb. lol

  • wat state u live in

  • @bass2catfishangler77 NEW YORK near Buffalo

  • Dang thats big for a freshwater drum. Way to go!

  • what was your biggest channel catfish and your biggest drum

  • whats better-to use with a bobber or not,ps not in a boat

  • @wwecenabelt1 - If the currents slower and its not deep that 12 - 14 feet deep a slip bobbers better in my opinion .

check out our ( catfish time ) video -we were shore fishing with slip floats

  • How do u use bobbers i use heavy sinkers in my rivers

  • @Shr3dtheGnar96 the currents kind of slow and most spots we fish are 8 to 12 foot deep .i'd probably use bottom rigs on big deep rivers myself

  • that really isnt that big if a catfish however was nice but not big!

  • @TheMrRoebuck its big for newyork - the record channel cats only 33 lbs here i think

  • the drum u caught is called gasper gull. they r really fun to catch

  • I thought you're not suppost to when releasing the fish. Never pull it backward, that actually drowning the fish. Water goes from their mouth through their gills. Not from the back, they'll move and react fast when you pull them backward cause their drowning, normal instinct will kick and they'll try to escape. Im not sure if that true but that what I heard from alot of people. Sound very logical.

  • u guys arent fishing in chaumont by any chance?

  • @joearcher71 no - we're in western newyork

  • where do buy the liver at

  • @texas915ful most grocery stores sell fresh or frozen chicken livers

  • heart river, huge river maybe 10 people are there at a time maybe, most i've seen at my spot is 6, i rarely ever get anything but walleye and catfish, now anyways used to always get perch

  • dang i wish i could get walleye often at all. i've caught 1 in my whole life, but i got it on film. check it out if you like. oh wait my bad i caught 2 but one was like 4 inches long.

  • every day i go fishing i get either a 6-8 inch walleye and a catfish seems like i get both, but nothing special, always throw those little walleyes back

  • we were fishing a lake Erie feeder creek in western new york

  • ur anoying bt good fsh

  • mike says the same thing- turn your speakers off WTF

  • ahh thanks.

  • AHH , One more question , y oesnt your float move... during the current? =[)..

  • were fishing close to the mouth of the river and the current slows way down ebvern backwards due to the wind from time to time

  • My daughter caught a 6 pound drum last year near the Roundhouse on the Lake. I have a new found respect for sheephead. It fought hard and was a lot of fun.

  • where do u get your chicken liver because i want to get some for catfishing

  • strper and cat thats all i know maybe trout

  • @adidastwist chicken liver only works for cattys all its ever worked for me

  • wow nice fish.. what did you catch the catfish on?? also are u using a weight at the bottom??

  • thanks. all we ever use for catfish is fresh chicken liver sacks :26 we use slip floats with a couple big split shot for weight 18 inches above the hook

  • drop shot

  • unbelieveable fish nice

  • THANKS MAN

  • Hey where are you guys fishing? I live down in PA and me and my dad were out at a lake called Cross Creek, messin around for some panfish with the fly rods. We spotted 2 big ol' channel cuts tucked up under an overhanging rock and my dad hooked into one with a muddler minnow fly. Just a light trout leader and he landed about a 10 pnd channel. I got some video of him fighting it on my phone and pictures. I'll try puttin em on youtube. But good luck to you guys land some more big ones.

  • nice vid man cant beat and ugly stick

  • 20lbs is what they get in texas the world record on a rod is 35lbs in texas ive only vaught 2 in the 20lb range but like 30 in the 10lb range but everythings bigger in texas

  • @czczman World record channel catfish was 58lbs.

  • @czczman texas is catfish paridise lol..........buncha huge ones i see the vids and they say huge catfish......im like........thats bait here in texas lol

  • thats not a little drum-anything over 10 is big round here.ive caught a 20 before but theyr rare

  • what kind of hook do you use for ur chicken liver sacks

  • we been tryin some circle hooks with good results but mainly use size 1/0 khale hooks for the lite biters that hit and drop the bait

  • thanks

  • hey man great vid and great fish ugly sticks are all i use too. how deep were you guys fishing?

  • thanks.

uglys are my favorite bigfish rod.

we was fishin maybe 7-9 ft water

  • o hell ya ugly sticks are my fav any rod, i got a 15 ft ugly stick 2 twelves one 9 a few 8s and a 7 never broke any

  • i got an ugly stick too, the reel kind of sucks though when i hook a fish it like skips, i got a paddlefish in on it though

  • holy smokes, 15 foot? i do most of my fishing with a 5ft lite ugly stik. they'll handle a lot unless you need the backbone to get a good hookset on a steelhead or something.

  • nice was he useing a ugly stick

  • ugly sticks is all we use for or catfishin

  • great fish!

  • thanks

  • Fun watchin' video. I'm not a Cat Man myself but I can appreciate any type of fishing. Cool to watch people doing there local thing.

  • THANKS MAN-we fish fish for anything from cats to walleye bass crappie salmon trout just about anything that swims fresh water.

    thanks for watchin

  • now, do you usually use that small of bobbers? i use thoe 6 inch balsa slip bobbers, but i need to cast like 20 feet to the dam where i fish.

  • we always use that size- big enogh to use 3 big split shots and small enogh so fish dont feel resistance and drop the bait- i cast like 150 ft with this setup

  • thanks for watchin

  • That was the biggest carp Ive ever seen ;). Nice setup on the canoe.

  • Excellent

    Big fan of your videos.

  • THANKS

  • You catch some big fish in a little boat. Keep it up. 5 outa 5.

  • Maaaan, I'm jealous here. I've been out for close to 14 hours this year and only had one catch, no bites besides that catch.

I must be doing something wrong (and I tried your chicken liver in netting method!)...maybe I should be going after a different fish. I've got patience, but man, it's beginning to wear thin.

  • better luck next time -time to try a new spot maybe. the cats are just startin here - i aint got one yet

  • Have you ever had any luck with substituting chicken livers with shad guts?

  • that would be a good place to try em- but the fish round here are kind of finicky and drop the bait if they feel too much resistance

  • Man I must be lazy, I just let mine sit on the bottom with an open bail, lol! You guys have caught some nice ones in last years highlight video!!
