  • I stumbled upon this while doing a youtube search for "Spanner in The Works, Saltspring Island" When I lived in Victoria, BC, I saw a concert by this Irish band, and I thoroughly enjoyed them. There are no videos in here of them, but I remembered this t.v. show, and ironically enough, Harry from the band is in this video! Also: I was working a really bad job, in a bakery, in walked Harry and he gave me a cassette tape of his band. I just remember that wonderful gesture with such fond memories!

  • @JoshMan522 And, I searched for Spanner in the Works on Saltspring, but they had disbanded and became Black Velvet, I think I was told. Ahhhh... such fond memories of Saltspring and the great people there.

  • @JoshMan522 Talk with Harry - he is still here, lol.

  • Salt Spring was cool back in the day when there were real hippies, now its all YUPPIES pretending to be hippies or just being yuppies!!

  • B Nevill is an inspiration

  • Yeah, time sure has flown by. Including riding naked on a horse, only Salt Spring could do that in downtown Vancouver.

  • This happened over 10 years ago.

  • My family moved to Salt Spring Island in 1963. They had just built the breakwater and dumped a lot of mud on the beach.

That became Centennial Park in 1967.

  • I agree completely with your views on preserving the environment. The this is - you guys are so annoying the way you go about it. All the hand-holding, dancing, singing and the nasally women giving speeches sounding on the verge of tears...ugh it gets so tiring. Doing a boot-slap dance on the courthouse steps honestly doesn't bring people to your cause, which should be your main objective. You neo-hippies make a religion out of it. That turns people way off. Good luck though.

  • wow that was quite the mature statement...your mom must be proud of ya...lol hahaha

  • those bastards!

  • hey... j/w if this is in Canada where (what province/territory)

  • Really nice job with the video.

  • Greetings from ATL, GA. Nothing like the northwest. I saw those marimba(?) players in Victoria. My dad lived in Alert Bay. How's that going?

  • Cool, yes the Market is back on Saturdays, now all we need is Spring!
