  • Well Done. very informative, the video says it all. Would really appreciate seeing those very same bullets 17gr B/T & 20H/P fired into ballistic gelatin @ 100 / 200yds. from what you've shown the 17gr B/T would be a great round for thin skinned and light boned small game, and if the 20gr H/P would drive deep and stay together out to 200yds, it could give a coyote a bad day. We could see that in a ballistic gelatin test. Tnx's!

  • I would love to see the .17 cci FMJ, I've shot 6" solid wood post and they go through and through lol I love the .17hmr

  • I believe the increased penetration/punchthrough was because of the bullet construction, the Hornady XTP .17 cal bullet has an extremely shallow hollow point cup, you can see the lead core of the bullet in the hollow point cup, the bullet is essentially a soft point bullet

Federal's 17 grain TNT hollow point (which I also need to test) is a true hollow point with a deep cup in the nose of the bullet

  • ive been thinking about stepping up to the .20's. i saw Remington just came out with a .25 gr for the .HMR but they were very expensive. is the end result because of the HP versus BT or because of the extra .3 gr?
