I don't l know is the simple answer. However, I have to point out that the notes are written by me and maybe disagreed with. Most of the images (paintings etc) are no longer in the building. The only painting still seen is that of the Goddess Bridie, or St. Bride as known later; an excellent painting and I'm glad it's still in the White Spring, though her flames have been drenched by water ;)
Nice images Mike, never been to the white spring but will go next visit, what happened to the peace candle? It should be replaced and kept alight. I will bring one to light when I am there, this is a great sadness we need as much light and peace as we can get. Lets return the candle of peace xx Maybe your spectre was looking for it?
There are very few paintings or anything else left in the place now. Plenty of candles but not the one shown, I haven't a clue why not excepting that there is a new layout and new management policy at the White Spring.
So you didn't get told off for taking pictures then. I was visiting the other day and got told I wasn't allowed to take pictures. I wasn't even using a flash. Too much water on the floor as well and very dark. If someone slips who would be liable.
Luckily, I took these pictures before the "new regime" came into being!
I agree with you, it is silly to stop people taking pictures here, and can lead to unwarranted accusations of something "sinister" taking place. I was told that a photographers' day was going to be held, where budding snappers like you and I were going to be allowed to use cameras, so far it hasn't happened.
Health & Safety at the local council can take action about the dangers posed walking here.
it hasn't half changed now! it was dark enough when it was a cafe: when I was there for Ostara this year I found it had been revamped, or "unvamped" It's now several pools of free-flowing water, and the noise is incredible. sadly as I'm not too mobile, I was more concerned with making sure that I didn't slip on the soaking floor than with soaking up any atmosphere
It certainly has changed, and I remember it as a Cafe too, (with all the dope-dealing as well :)
The new pools look good as you wrote, but have increased the noise levels. I don't really know what the pools' purpose is, other than decoration. Probably used in rituals which I have yet to observe. the lighting is bad, and combined with the wet floor, it makes for an accident waiting to happen.
@mikesey1 me too! Aparently one can get into the pools for rituals etc [but tell and attendant first!] but the water was cold enough on the floor and as spray in the air - anyone immersing themselves would need to watch out for polar bears!. I suppose it's more "natural" now than as a cafe or a pumping station, but, boy, the noise! Hardly seems conducive to a relaxed, serene frame of mind
Crikey, that's a surprise, i'm assuming you didn't see anything when you took the photograph? I guess you've ruled out the usual stuff like cigarette smoke/incense etc.
The White Spring has certainly changed since i was in there last, about nine years ago. A friend of mine lives in Glastonbury, i'll ask her if she's seen anything in there over the years.
Hi there. Nope there was no smoke in the building. I saw some vapour or something like steam though. It was shapeless, but using flash apparentley showed its form. People criticise the use of flash, but I am told that some of its light spectrum is in the UV ; that maybe why so many pics show things formless in the physical, but visible in photos.
Hi Robert. I have place annotations on the video, which I hope goes some way to explanation. i am also hoping that the, so far, disappointing viewcount increases, though there have been difficulties and issues with viewcounts of late.
These stem from You Tube meddling with them on all channels, except those of their partners!
Why does a simple sexual activity must be made in a boring damn ritual place such as this one? -.-
