No, china's military technology is still widely copied from other countries.

And that time that the chinese sub got past our forces is not what you think. I read into it. They were not in an offensive maneuver, which is what we would have detected. Meaning if the chinese sub had taken an offensive stature, we would have detected it right away.

A 16" gun can only strike targets up to 23 miles away and a TLAM(tomahawk land attack missile) can strike a target from 1000+ miles away with greater accuracy and a bigger warhead. A tomahawk would not be used for destroying targets close to the shore, it would be used for targets 100 miles away.
