Did anybody know that Snake's JP voice actor is the same as Dr. Eggman's JP voice actor? That could be a reason other than the obvious hedgehogs eat snakes deal.

When Metal Gear Solid 1 (In 1998) first came out, around that time, Sonic the Hedghog series barely beat the MGS franchise by a few million copies. Now, in SSBB, they try to make it sound like Snake is jealous of Sonic. Evidence of this is when Otacon says "Everybody loves Sonic, he's a big star!"

Sega is trying to rub that in Konami's face.

They shouldn't be laughing, there are more Sonic games than MGS games.

2 reasons (i think) why Snake doesn't like Sonic:

1. Hedgehogs DO eat snakes, so it must be an inside joke.

2. (Most Logical) Sonic stole Snake's thunder when he was revealed to be the 2nd 3rd party character. While Snake was a shock and seen in most of the trailers, Sonic was the most popular and requested for Brawl.

Some gaming message boards i knew of half crashed over that reveal. So the joke here is that Sonic made Snake less important.

It's because they have very different personalities. Sonic actually gets out in the world and doesn't waste time staying in one place, while Snake just sits in his box all day.

Snake uses his box in Brawl, while in MGS(Mostly MGS4) he uses machine guns, explosives, knives, sniper weapons, automatic pistols, submachine guns, several missle/rocket launchers, etc. I guess it's stupid Sakari wanting the game to be rated just T. If they are gonna add Snake in SSBB they should at least give him all the shit he uses in his games.

@greengreens9 Its funny how they don't allow real guns (since apparently a kid might be dumb enough to grab his parent's gun (which ISNT LOCKED SECURELY AWAY???) and shoot someone) and yet they allow laser pistols which look exactly like real guns anyway, at least from a distance.

Rant aside, he still has the CQC and a bunch of other weapons so its not as bad as it could be.

@AlexanderT21 No, don't want to cause the game to be rated M. Guns require blood, usually. I never liked the Nikita or how he aims his RPG-7 down at the ground :-/.

I recall him using an RPG-7 in MGS4, but he never aimed it at the ground.

He only used the Nikita briefly in MGS1. I kinda liked the Mortar (U-smash) idea, though.

I did a little research; and both Wikipedia, and the edition of the World Book Encyclopedia that I own both confirm, Hedgehogs eat snakes. Snake doesn't know that, so I guess the dislike is instinctive or something.
