@chavhater94 Actually, with a higher wattage cab you don't get speaker breakup(speaker distortion). You also have the impression of increased headroom, mainly because the speakers are not breaking up.
@biscuits1337XD I posted this because I was selling the amp and decided to leave it up so that others, who might me interested in the Bitmo mod, could get an idea about how it sounds.
The Blackheart sounds great, I wanted one but without a master volume, even at 5 watts its too loud for home play. Ended up with a Vox AC15, but tone wise it doesnt compare to the Blackheart.
sounds pretty good man. i've been looking at this mod for awhile cuz my blackheart sounds very harsh when it breaks up much and isnt even really a usable sound, keeping me from ever driving it past 11 o'clock or so. i dont think thats quite right, so new tube are probably in order, but this adds versatility im sure. yours is the first helpful demo of this mod i've found, thanks!
Yep, the mod was worth it to me. All I did to get a good sound out of the amp was replace the cheap stock tubes with a decent set and installed the bitmo kit. I didn't like the stock speaker that came in the cab either. I took the head to Guitar Center and plugged it into several cabs. To me, the head sounded best with vintage 30s and these Vox wharfedales.
at about :45 seconds you get a really nice clean tone..did you just flip the switch and leave it at that or did you roll off the volume knob on the guitar as well?
@andrewguitar67 I put the switch in the middle position and rolled back a bit on the volume. It looks like the volume was at about "4". there's not alot of clean headroom on this amp with humbuckers.
WHAT WAS THE FIRST SONG YOU PLAYED?
please reply!

@bogdanelrus Wow! Just wow. You're watching an amp demo and you didn't recognize Led Zeppelin.

with this head on a 60 watt cab does it play at the volume of a 60 watt amp?
chavhater94 7 months ago
@chavhater94 No, it only means that the cab can handel up to that much power from an amp head.

@pedecamp You could have got an Attenuator, but the AC15 is a good amp too.
