and this is why britain at one time owned a quarter of the world, because we have real agents like bond, its true, we dont have alot of manpower so we have to be the best at everything we do, if you look it up, our royal marines train longer than 1 us navy recruit 1 us marine recruit guy and 1 us army recruit, 1 of our royal marines trains for longer than those 3 put together
Great opening for Bond....remember watching in the theater with my dad. By todays standards its outdated of course.....gotta remember what was state of the art in 1987 though. Even paint ball games were just taking off....
For all its obvious flaws, this is a fantastic Bond film and opening sequence. And besides being a great Bond, Dalton apparently performed many of his own stunts.
This is a nice sequence. I think the music dates it somewhat and doesn't have that gritty reboot quality. Also I always get distracted by the studio bits in an outside sequence. But credit where credit's due - nice sequence, location and idea, and a younger believable Bond.
@mailman696 I couldn't agree more. I could watch this part of the movie over and over and never get tired of it. This is one of the best if not the best pre-title sequence in a Bond movie.
@no1saphead thats y bond movies exist to see thinks that cant hapen if i wana see real thinks i can watch out of the screen.... and u comment this in one of the most realistic bond movies

Timothy was a more than decent Bond. His films were much better than Brosnan or Moore's, for the most part.

@LTopomcFly better than goldeneye?
jahreel 8 months ago
@LTopomcFly The only Brosnan film I really like is "Tomorrow Never Dies". Goldeneye the game was better than the movie :)

@LTopomcFly Brosnan always looked like some smug soap opera hero, Dalton was a lot more believable as down to earth spy.

@mailman696 Yes, i always loved this opening. The whole concept of a War game gone wrong is really cool.
