Back in the day, I made my own N.R.P.S. T-Shirt with the Sunset and Cactus in the backround and the capital letters N.R.P.S. Across the front . It was an amazing T...hardly anyone new what N.R.P.S. meant...made for some great conversation. When ya love the Dead and The New Riders life is good!

I'm pretty sure the pedal steel was being played by Jerry Garcia. Before he was with the Dead, his first stringed instrument was the pedal steel. When you Google his story, you find a lot about his time with New Riders.
