They start halfway becuase it's harder to start at an incline. Starting a few lengths back makes it too easy, almost any machine would make it. Too hard to judge the race that way.
These are some sweet frickin trucks. I can't believe the burst of acceleration some of these things are getting while going up the hill..... completely defying gravity and laughing in the face of traction.
its way easier if you got a run at it, you should know if you have ever rode a dirtbike
