They were great cars! Put together well for an economy car. excellent on gas, even handled not too bad for a tall short car. My '89 didn't like hitting a deer, though. *sigh*
@acadianfever I have 2 of them and both have the bad fuel pumps on them and one right now im working on getting some what restored and should have it posted on my channel tonight or in the morning so you could check my channel out to see what it looks like and all that
can you give a more detailed desription of the airr filter you have on your festiva, i bought mine a month now, its not so fast, has 125,000 miles on it plus giving me a littlee trouble. would love to get some info from you. thanks
hey i too have a 88 carb ford festiva but it moves alot slower, can youhelp me get it up to speed. its a mazda b3 engine, 125,000 miles on it, i bought it like a month now
Nice repeated crossing the double yellow. One of these days someone's gonna be scraping you off the cliffside, hopefully its *just* you and not some poor family you ran right into and knocked over the edge with you.
lol as the video states i was complely stock, that includes suspension! A stock festiva has a TON of body roll, and 12 inch tires, but once u get use to it u learn to use it to your advantage. I never got any oversteer or understeer! Well except once lol but that was my own fault. The brakes are the worse part of the car!
going into the opposite lane on a blind left turn at double the probable speed limit sounds fairly unsafe to me......btw, i have nothing against going over the speed limit safely, i do have a problem with people who endanger others with their fast driving ie, going into the opposite lane while driving. I do enjoy driving quickly through the canyons around where i live, but I stay in my lane unless I have an emergency situation, ie, animal jumps in front of me, a bicycle wrecks etc.
i never went into a opposite lane on a blind left turn once. i only ever crossed the double yellow if i could see at least 100 yards a head of me and i knew for sure there was nobody comming. I know that road very well, i have been driving down it since i got my license at 15 1/2 and been riding down it with my dad since i was born, thats how fast i take it every time i drive down it which is probably 10 times a month, never wrecked once, never spun once, never caused a wreck once
perhaps it was just the camera angle then, and you say you got your license at 15 1/2 so how long have you been driving this road? It does look like a fun road to drive however I still stand behind the staying in one's land business, even if you didn't do it on left hand blind corners there still could have been a deer jump in front of you and caused trouble, I salute you on your skill and or luck that you have not wrecked spun or caused a wreck, may the rest of your life be just as fortunate.
yeah its stock, since its an 88 and carb'ed the engine isn't computer controled so even though the car says i should shift at 5000 i take it up to 7000 before shifting sometimes higher, the power really starts to die down but if im in the turns i wanna keep the engine wound up so i can keep my speed. plus shifting through a turn is never wise
can you give a more detailed desription of the airr filter you have on your festiva, i bought mine a month now, its not so fast, has 125,000 miles on it plus giving me a little trouble. would love to get some info from you. thanks
i knoiw that cant be stock for an 1988 u have to have upgrades cause i'm slowly doing my 88 festiva and replacing several units like the sending unit which goes bad getting it from japan
i sware to jebus im stock except i have a hks air filter duct taped to the stock carb, and a muffler that was crapily welded on by me. you'll see just rev the heck out of the engine, but be carful or ull pop it like i did
And he only crosses when there is no traffic....... I did that in my friends 01' Mach 1 Mustang I always stayed on my side whe nthere were other cars.
thanks for noticing, and usually when cars were going by i tried to slow down a little, and i would never cross uless i could see the turn ahead of me and knew there was no chance of a car comming from the other direction
this video is sped up slightly

good video! It proves the saying "It's way more fun to go fast in a slow car than slow in a fast car."
I'm getting permits to put up some performance videos of my festy, wish me luck!

Haha, awesome... what do you have for suspension set-up? I'd expect a stock festiva would have a ton of body roll...

I would be more impressed if you managed to stay in your own lane around the blind curves.
