My Mage lighting/ice/and the specialization I think it was force Mage. I found it really easy too fight.

I focused on having my mage with primal powers as well as elemental... or at least have Anders with some of both... dropping two tempests and two firestorms at the same time is beautiful in it's chaos.... Throw in Varric's hail of arrows, and you have a crispy killzone... or you can just spread them all out so the enemy gets hit wherever they go. Really great in corridors when you have enemies coming from both directions, drop a set on either side, and you're good to go.

i had to take it down to casual for that figh at the end heres some tips the pillers stay behind them as much as possiple they void his attacks at multiple points he will go down into the ground thats when you pop damage/aoe/speed or any kind of buff because he cant attack thesers more to the fight but i dont remember it all thats just the base i remember---this boss is a bitch end is worth it tho
