  • Thankyou for putting this up!!!

  • This song is very nice! :D

Thank you for putting it up. :)

  • Who is singing this?

  • @kearneyg2005 Duncan Sheik

  • @kearneyg2005 It's Duncan Sheik, the composer.

  • this songs so sad... Really It's so good... Put me into a state of deep thought for like four hours, it was such an amazing experience. Awesome song... I cant believe it wasn't in the musical. The instrumentals also say just as much as the lyrics and that's what makes it so good... The instrument conveys such a weird message to me

  • 5/5 thanks for uploading!

  • No problem. Thanks for the comment. Glad you like the song.

  • This song is so beautiful. I really wish they left it in the show.

  • I know.

Thanks for the comment. I'm glad you liked the song.

  • other people have when you look up the song there's another one on there at least two that i know of ...

  • I'm not sure I understand what you're saying.

  • other people have, when you look up the song there's another one on there; at least two that i know of ...

    fixed?

  • they put the same song up ... two that i know of ... the person who put this up said that they couldn't believe that it wasn't already out there ... i was just imforming them that it was

  • Do you mean Once upon a pirate night?

  • Well they are different. There Once Was a Pirate replaced Once Upon a Pirate Night for the Off-Broadway show. Then The Guily Ones replaced There Once Was A Pirate when the show went to Broadway.

  • such an wm

  • sorry, what i meant to say was: This song really tuched me. Its so sad... The maiden and the Pirate will never find each other, they'll just go on serching for the other forever.

  • I know. it's sad and haunting but it's beautiful.

Thanks for the comment. I'm glad you like it.

  • THIS IS MY NEW ACCOUNT.

  • I still have no clue what this is about, but I love it.

  • It's much more cryptic than the other songs in the show.

Thanks for the comment. Glad you like it.

  • well what is it about?

  • I'm gunan put it out there, I also don't know what it's about but I'm guessing the meaning is similar to that of The Guilty Ones since it replaced this one. But again, I'm just as lost. Sorry.

  • what is this song saying/expressing?

  • It's basically like The Guilty Ones.

  • Holy Crap, I had no idea Duncan had such a voice! I like both this song and The Guilty Ones.... Wish they had both in the musical. Thanks for putting it up.

  • I know! Too bad though, they're both awesome songs (But I do like this one a bit more)

Thanks for the comment. Glad you enjoyed.

  • i like both this one and the guilty ones equally. but i LOVE LOVE LOVE the whole soundtrack. i wish this was on as a bonus track. because its not on my CD i bought.

  • It wasn't? That's a shame. If you havce iTunes, you can buy it for 99 cents if you search Spring Awakening. I'm sure it's up there.

  • I like this better who is singing this in this vid? Duncan sheik? never mind i just look down lol

  • lol. Yep, Duncan Sheik. Thanks for the comment, glad you like it.

  • i like them both...this song is a bit repetitive...you kind of stop thinking when you listen to it...i'd prefer both of the songs in the show though...but oh well...at least we have Duncan Sheik singing it

  • True...thanks for the comment.

  • This is a beautiful haunting song, and it seems to forshadow something bad happening, but in the course of the musical there are no songs that are completely metaphorical and it doesn't seem to fit.

  • I saw a clip of the cast singing this...I think it's better that Duncan is singing it than the entire cast because it doesn't sound as good with the female parts to it. But this is definitely one of my favorites on the soundtrack. And 'The Mirror-Blue Lihgt' si...somewhat metaphorical, I think.

Thanks for the comment. I'm glad you enjoy this.

  • I Agree

  • huh. i'm not crazy about this song. i prefer the guilty ones, but it looks like i'm here alone on this one...

  • Not entirely. My friend Emily, who got me into Spring Awakening, also likes The Guilty Ones better. I like this one because of the ominous feel.

  • I'm into both.

I think there both beautiful in different ways. I do like The Guilty Ones a little better but other are intense

  • this is haunting. But then again Guilty Ones has this air of hollowness to it too. Still, shouldn't have replaced it. Love Spring Awakening. Duncan Sheik is so talented.

  • Indeed he is. I like this one MUCH better than the Guilty Ones too.

  • why DID they change it from this to the guilty ones?

i think i like this more than that. :/

  • I have n clue. And I like this better than The Guilty Ones as well. It's so much mroe reflective and symbolic and the song overall is just..better in ym opinion.

  • This is very hunting..

  • I know. That's probably why I like it. Duncan Sheik sang so well.

  • *CD

    oops lol

  • yeah im not crazy about "the guilty ones"

and i have the city but i never noticed a bonus track.

    hmm

  • Yeah, i didn't either. but my iTunes called it a Bonus track so..I just put it as it was. And I'm not a fasn of 'The Guilty Ones' either. But I thgink the lyricws fit better than this song. But it makes for great ear crack. lol.

  • It's Duncan Sheik singing, yes.

  • He does a good job. My friend says it sounds creepy, but I love this piece.

  • is this the only studio recording of this song? and who's singing it? who sang it in the show (when it was still in it)? (sry for all the questions lol)

  • I think so. I THINK it's Duncan Sheik singing it but I'm not sure. And this song was the original but when Spring Awakening moved to Broadway, they replaced it with 'The Guilty Ones'.

No problem about the questions. I like answering them. ^_^

    Thanks for the comment.

  • THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH!!!! :D

this just made my day. this song is so haunting.

  • You're very welcome. Thanks for the comment. I'm glad you like the song.

  • This song is AWESOME!! I heard it the first time here. Such a pity it has been put out from the show...

  • I know. Replaced by The Guilty Ones no les...personally, I like this better.

  • This is awesome. :)

    I love this song. Well, I love Spring Awakening in general. It's amazing. I'm soo glad it won 8 Tonys. It deserved 'em. :}

  • Every damn one of em. :3.

Especially John Galliger(I hope I spelt that right) Jr. *Drools* Thanks for the comment.

  • Oh so awesome.

I know this song but I haven't ever heard Sheik's recording of it.

Thanks for posting this song up!

  • You're welcome. Thanks for commenting. I'm surprised no one else did before me.

  • Wait...since when is this a bonus track? On the newer editions?

  • Well, that's what it said on my iTunes anyway.

  • aww I liked it! I actually recorded myself singing this last week, but, it was kind of boring and I also don't have a karaoke for it..I could figure out the chords, but, I'm lazy...lol good job though! I do love this song, but, it's just so repetitive...oh well

  • I love this one. it's so haunting but sweet and....it blew me away.

  • This was the first time I've heard this and it's blowing me away now. ^_^

  • It's an amazing song. It should. lol.

Thanks for the comment. Glad you like the song.
