this songs so sad... Really It's so good... Put me into a state of deep thought for like four hours, it was such an amazing experience. Awesome song... I cant believe it wasn't in the musical. The instrumentals also say just as much as the lyrics and that's what makes it so good... The instrument conveys such a weird message to me
they put the same song up ... two that i know of ... the person who put this up said that they couldn't believe that it wasn't already out there ... i was just imforming them that it was
Well they are different. There Once Was a Pirate replaced Once Upon a Pirate Night for the Off-Broadway show. Then The Guily Ones replaced There Once Was A Pirate when the show went to Broadway.
sorry, what i meant to say was: This song really tuched me. Its so sad... The maiden and the Pirate will never find each other, they'll just go on serching for the other forever.
I'm gunan put it out there, I also don't know what it's about but I'm guessing the meaning is similar to that of The Guilty Ones since it replaced this one. But again, I'm just as lost. Sorry.
Holy Crap, I had no idea Duncan had such a voice! I like both this song and The Guilty Ones.... Wish they had both in the musical. Thanks for putting it up.
i like both this one and the guilty ones equally. but i LOVE LOVE LOVE the whole soundtrack. i wish this was on as a bonus track. because its not on my CD i bought.
i like them both...this song is a bit repetitive...you kind of stop thinking when you listen to it...i'd prefer both of the songs in the show though...but oh well...at least we have Duncan Sheik singing it
This is a beautiful haunting song, and it seems to forshadow something bad happening, but in the course of the musical there are no songs that are completely metaphorical and it doesn't seem to fit.
I saw a clip of the cast singing this...I think it's better that Duncan is singing it than the entire cast because it doesn't sound as good with the female parts to it. But this is definitely one of my favorites on the soundtrack. And 'The Mirror-Blue Lihgt' si...somewhat metaphorical, I think.
this is haunting. But then again Guilty Ones has this air of hollowness to it too. Still, shouldn't have replaced it. Love Spring Awakening. Duncan Sheik is so talented.
I have n clue. And I like this better than The Guilty Ones as well. It's so much mroe reflective and symbolic and the song overall is just..better in ym opinion.
Yeah, i didn't either. but my iTunes called it a Bonus track so..I just put it as it was. And I'm not a fasn of 'The Guilty Ones' either. But I thgink the lyricws fit better than this song. But it makes for great ear crack. lol.
is this the only studio recording of this song? and who's singing it? who sang it in the show (when it was still in it)? (sry for all the questions lol)
I think so. I THINK it's Duncan Sheik singing it but I'm not sure. And this song was the original but when Spring Awakening moved to Broadway, they replaced it with 'The Guilty Ones'.
No problem about the questions. I like answering them. ^_^
aww I liked it! I actually recorded myself singing this last week, but, it was kind of boring and I also don't have a karaoke for it..I could figure out the chords, but, I'm lazy...lol good job though! I do love this song, but, it's just so repetitive...oh well
Thankyou for putting this up!!!
