Thank you for your comment on the garden. Where in Alaska are you? My home is Summerton South Carolina.I am sure our weather is quite different.Our soil conditions here are very favorable,sandy and rich with clay in places and hardly any rock. I will update today if weather permits. Have already harvested most of the broccoli but still have plenty to show.Have had problems with peppers (aphids,too much rain)but hopefully I am turning that arround. Thanks again and keep checking in for latest .

I am in Anchorage. Had cold nights this spring and couldn't get any tomatoes to grow outside. Luttuce, romaine, strawberries and potatoes did excellent in the cool nights.

I had a slug problem last year. This year we are using LIME (gray color) and so far no slugs.

do you like collards? they are a tradition here and love the cooler temps...

small dishes with stale beer attract slugs and kill them.....

@MeSeeUTube the brussel sprouts love the cold as well. i live in Palm Bay Florida and i tried to grow brussels in the winter but by the time they matured, it was way too hot and the sprouts dont form a tight ball. they just open as they grow. But peppers and eggplant do extremely well here since they love heat. peppers need slight protection from direct sun hitting the fruit. its cool how people from three different growing environments can share experience and ideas!
