I hate these videos by expert village, they make to many and the tuts take forever and theres never any written instructions. what a waste of space and time. then theres the crappy commercial add at the beginning of ea. video, not to mention the intro which goes over and over and over and over again! I'm still looking for the perfect crochet tutorial.
For a pom pom wrap yarn loosely around a piece of 3" wide cardboard (wider cardboard & more yarn makes bigger pom poms) Slide the yarn off of the cardboard; tie a separate piece of yarn tightly around the middle, leaving the ends long for attaching to the beanie. clip all of the loops and fluff your pom pom. Pull the two strands used to tie the middle thru the top of your hat on either side of the top hole. Tie those strands underneath and wa-lah! You have a pom pom for your beanie.

Hmm, this is not really a pom pom, it's more like a variation on a fringe
