@MooneYoungBlood 90 percent of that is determined by your skill. 10 percent of that is determined by the tightest of your trucks, and hardness of your bushings. Tighter trucks + harder bushing = less turn = less speed wobbles. But honestly, it all comes down to your skill and balance. Nobody can answer this question for you. I could take it up to 35. Some maybe 25. Depends.
@Originalskateboards Hey original I was wondering I've got the apex 37 and I was looking for a really good cruising board in an area with lots of flats and medium sized hills. Id say I am and intermediate rider. Help?
@ELIDOTORG got to originals channel and look at the left column and scroll down, there should be a original channel that is titled how to. click on it and it will show you how to disassemble your trucks.
that should help you out. but you got to oil them use white lithium grease.
@ELIDOTORG Go to google and type: silverfishlongboarding + "insert your question here" Then read about it. Don't post a new thread, all the info you need is there.
ive been doubitng a long time with the malakai or pintail 37? what do you think i should get? i want a board esey for begginers, i want to be able to cruise really well. The only thing is that i dont know if the malakai is too big?! can you help me out?
@TheLongboardpro16 the pintail would be a good choice for you. It's more stable than the malakai and so it's easier to learn on and better for just cruising. The Malakai is a great board for beginners too, if they're looking for flex and carving
Hi, i am planning on buying my first board. i am a beginner and i want a pintail but i do not know which one would be best for me. i am 5'6 and a 140 pounds.
@Originalskateboards i bought the original malakai with orangatang 4pres 70mm wheels and s8 original trucks. while i was riding i got a slight wheel bite. i was wondering what size risers i shud get
@KpxRagDoll the Malakai is fine with 70mm wheels or smaller. You may get slight wheel bite with the 4 pres wheels since they're a wider wheel. The risers with the board are fine, I wouldn't go any bigger or it might be too wobbly of a board, you would also need different hardware.
@whatchamacallit75 we usually recommend this board for riders under 180 lbs because it's a very flexible board. If you want something with lots of flex for carving then yes, you can get this board, I would suggest red medium tension springs or white heavy tension springs in your trucks for a higher resistance. If you want a board with a bit more stability then you may want to check out the pintail 40, or 43. They're both thicker and stiffer.
Hey original, im looking for a board to push around town. Im either going to get the torpedo 40 or this.. Whats a better board for just cruising and pushing?
hey original i need help choosing trucks for my malakai im gonna be using it to get around but i really love pumping! i live in a pretty flat area. what do you recomend?
hey original! i want a longboard just for CRUISING im not going to do any tricks or anything so what should i get a pintail or a kicktail and which board would you reccommend for me?
@TeddyFingersBOI if you want a board with a bit of flex, check out either the Torpedo or the Malakai! If you want something with more stiffness and more stability then the pintail series are also a fun cruising board.
hey ORIGINAL, i want a long bored but i dont know if i should get the pintail 40 or the malakai 40 i just want it for cruising ..... i am new to longbording so ya pleez help
@DD666AWAB either board would be great for cruising. The Malakai is a more flexible board and uses s6 trucks and risers, making it very turny. The Pintail does not use risers, making it lower to the ground, and is a stiffer board, making it more stable
hey original! i want a pintail board that is like this one. but im pretty heavy and i also wanna do a little bit of downhill. and since original is the best longboard manufacturers, i wuz wonderin if u could help me out?
@IMsillypantsman123 the Malakai is a pretty flexible board. If you want one that is stiffer and more stable, then go for an actual pintail from our series! They come in 4 different sizes!
Hey original im 18 years old, 5'10, 140 lbs and love snowboarding. ive ridden a longboard couple of times and it was really fun and got used to it easily. i was wondering what board would be good for cruising, carving, and gives a smooth ride. i was thinking of getting a malakai 40 wit s8 trucks and orangatang 65mm 83a wheels. would this be a good decision or is there something better? thanks!
Hey Original! im about 5'10 210 (pretty heavy i know) i hav never longboarded and all i mainly want to do is cruise and carve. What would u guys suggest for me?
@5hinn402 The Pintail series are great boards to start out on because they are pretty stiff and have a lower center of gravity, providing you with a lot of stability!
im ordering one of these to night and I'm stuck on if i should get the s6s or the s8s
im a beginner but i will mostly ride it at my park and to school but there is some hills on the way there but i really like the tight turns witch one one u recommend ?
@JinnQz the Pintail 43 with s8 trucks and red medium tension springs would be a good set up for you! As for wheels, you can get something that's 80a in durometer which isn't too hard or too soft!
Hi original I am 5"3 and 130 pounds. I would like to carve and go down smaller hills. Do you think I should buy the Maliki 40 or the pintail 37 ( I'm a beginner )
@oturner45zink I think the Pintail 37 provides a much higher ceiling for advancement than the Malakai (due to the concave and the drop-to-deck mounting for Original trucks. If you like the art, the Malakai is certainly a fun board but it is higher and not quite as performance oriented.
Im 5 foot 2 and 90pounds, i want to really carve but cruise a bit, not too into bombing hills but decent downhills, what do u recommend? i have had some longboard experience but not in carving, just cruising for long distances to get to places. PLEASE REPLY
@THEMUFFINMANO1 it all depends on the type of riding you're looking to do! Our Apex 37 is our most versatile board, but is meant mostly for freestyle. The hybrid is great for simulating surfing, and snowboarding. Our torpedo is great for cruising, and has a kicktail for some freestyle. The pintails are stable and great for cruising around. Our Freeride boards are also pretty versatile for sliding, high speeds, and freestyle. Let us know what's you're interested in!
@MrMetalGuitarist1 hey thanks for providing us with your height and weight, but please let us know the type of riding you would like to do, and whether you have experience or not. Once we get all the info we can help you select a good set up for you.
Serious doubt here: I'm a beginner and I want a longboard for cruising/carving. I have no idea whether I should get the Malakai 40, or the Pintail 40. Help, anyone? :)
@maurabazzarelli you may feel more comfortable going with the pintail because it's a bit more stable and is lower to the ground making learning easier.
@maurabazzarelli You hardly can ride switch, sliding is extremely hard to learn since the for of a pintail isn't made for that. Doing (nose)manuals is harder and you can't make shove it's since they have no kicks (only the back but it's way harder to learn) they are to short to do grab tricks, learning to dance on a pintail is harder, and your trucks are mounted underneath your board instead of droptrough so you're higher from the ground. they are stiff (most are). go for Loaded TenTien + Durian
@maurabazzarelli pintails definitely. it can carve, slide and the best cruiser because its low to the ground.choose orantang stimulus (excuse my spelling) wheels not retro zigzags.
Dear Original, I want this board and i already have original trucks, but I dont have the Original risers, can I use regular truck risers? or if not, is it possible to buy the original risers separate?
@supercel41 The Malakai is great for carving because it's pretty flexy! You may want to get the s8 trucks with it and a set of harder wheels to slide.
@CooKidMcRib the malakai is definitely fun to carve and cruise with, and you can slide with some harder wheels. If you get the red medium tension spring in the s8 trucks you would be fine on smaller hills. If you're thinking about going pretty fast you may want to look into our pintails for speeds around 20mph (they're lower to the ground and more stable) or the freeride boards for high speeds.
hi original, i buy the malakai 2 weeks ago...i'm very happy, it's very easy to ride, and with the white spring in the rear truck (screwed hard) and the red spring in front it's very easy to pump it.
@MrKunaiMike we usually don't recommend the Malakai or Torpedo to anyone over 180 lbs because they're really flexy boards. Check out the pintail 40. This board would be strong enough, and with Original trucks it definitely feels like snowboarding.
This is the first board I ever looked at. I fell inlove, but went with the S9 Burleigh instead. I finally got to stand on The Malakai, and I have decided to start working on my new investment..
@thehillsbulls With the green wheels, they were s10 trucks, the largest original trucks. They are best for bombing big hills. The stock form comes with s8 trucks. Honestly I would get the pintail 40 which is the newer version of this board.
Hey, I'm 6 feet exactly, im 14 and I weigh 130 pounds, would you recommend this board or the pintail 40? they both look amazing. I'm also a beginner so I need one which is easy to ride.
@138Jezza the malakai and pintail 40 would both be a good choice for you. The pintail is a bit easier to learn on because it's lower to the ground and isn't as flexible making it more stable.
hi, im a longboarder i usual do downhill but ive carved a lot with my friends boards and im looking into buying a downhill carving board any suggestions
I really wanna get one of your boards but dont know which one to get. I am 5'9 and weigh 120, I am new to longboards and want one for mainly for cruising but can carve nicely. Also what king of set up should get with trucks and wheels?
@Danul11 check out the Pintail 40. It's a great cruising board, and paired up with Original s8s you'll be able to carve nicely. Look for a wheel with a softer durometer if you want a smooth, grippy ride.
@starcaster1999 sure! The Malakai and Pintail are different feels when you ride them. The Malakai is much more flexible and uses risers so it's not as stable as the pintail. If you're looking for a flexible board they you can make some really quick, tight carves with, the Malakai is a great choice!
hey original, i am a beginner... and i am 5'7 and i weigh 140.... what board would you recomend for me? :) plzz respond... or someoneelse... plz i would like to buy a board soon :)
@surfda808style upgrade to the s8 trucks and you can put whatever 70mm wheels you want depending on the type of riding you plan to do. Hard= sliding, soft= sticking
hey @Originalskateboards! im 5 feet tall, weigh 90 pounds, and im new to longboarding. i already have a board but its just not doin the job. would you recommend the malakai 40? if not, which board would be best for me?
damn when are you gonna get the pintail 40 or 43 cus i wan one of themmbut beacuse theyr out of stock i dont know what to do then i saw the malaki and i tought it would be good enugh but now im not so sure anymore. when do you get the boards
@JayBird90210 Thanks for posting your height and weight Jay. The Malakai will be a bit too flexible for you at 230Lbs, try the Pintail 43 or Pintail 46, that should work perfect for you.
I'm 6' and about 140-145 pounds... and i've been boarding for a few weeks now with my gf's old borad... do you think the Malakai would be a good first board for me?
This is a disgrace to longboarding. Its about speed and thrill. Stop fucking touching the road u hippies. Get some leathers and a helmet and bomb those hills instead of molesting them u no skilled noobs.
Orginal always makes the worst shit, these trucks are terrible, decks are trash.
support Earthwing or Landyachtz or Comet, not this bullshit.
Hey Originalskateboards in 12 yrs old 103lbs 5ft and i don't know what kind of board to get. i have no long boarding experience and I'm looking for a good beginner board that is mainly for cruising around and urban tightly packed town.
ok someone PLEASE tell me, HOW FAST can this board get before wobbling out of control?

MrKunaiMike 6 months ago
@MrKunaiMike we usually don't recommend the Malakai or Torpedo to anyone over 180 lbs because they're really flexy boards. Check out the pintail 40. This board would be strong enough, and with Original trucks it definitely feels like snowboarding.

This is the first board I ever looked at. I fell inlove, but went with the S9 Burleigh instead. I finally got to stand on The Malakai, and I have decided to start working on my new investment..

I'm 6'1 and I weigh 390 pounds, what would be a good longboard for me?
TheCoolMexicanGuy 6 months ago
@TheCoolMexicanGuy check out Hamboards! You would also need to get the white heavy tension spring inside your trucks for maximum stability.

im 5'4 and 103 pounds. I love downhill boarding and cruising, what board would recommend for me?

Hey, im 6 feet and 120 pound. i have longboarded for 1 year, would you recommend this board for me?
youman09az 6 months ago
@youman09az the Malakai would be a great board for your size! It's a pretty flexy board and is great for carving.

@thehillsbulls With the green wheels, they were s10 trucks, the largest original trucks. They are best for bombing big hills. The stock form comes with s8 trucks. Honestly I would get the pintail 40 which is the newer version of this board.
driftattack11 6 months ago
what trucks were they when she had the green wheels on s8 or s10 can you please tell me originalor anyone pleases
TheHillsbulls 6 months ago
Hey, I'm 6 feet exactly, im 14 and I weigh 130 pounds, would you recommend this board or the pintail 40? they both look amazing. I'm also a beginner so I need one which is easy to ride.
138Jezza 6 months ago
@138Jezza the malakai and pintail 40 would both be a good choice for you. The pintail is a bit easier to learn on because it's lower to the ground and isn't as flexible making it more stable.
Originalskateboards 6 months ago
but i also want an acceptable amount of stability so im not sure if this board would be okay because i do realize it is on risers
EmDoubs 6 months ago
@EmDoubs check out the pintail 40 if you're looking for stability!
Originalskateboards 6 months ago
i want to get a boared that can turn and carve really good....please respond im ordering one soon:)
EmDoubs 6 months ago
@EmDoubs look at either the Malakai 40 or the Torpedo 40. Both boards come with our standard s6 trucks and can really rip around the streets!
Originalskateboards 6 months ago
@Originalskateboards okay thanks! which one is more stable for cruising though?
EmDoubs 6 months ago
@EmDoubs both ride the same. If you want stability upgrade your trucks to either the s8 or s10's and get the red medium tension springs.

Hi Original,
I really wanna get one of your boards but dont know which one to get. I am 5'9 and weigh 120, I am new to longboards and want one for mainly for cruising but can carve nicely. Also what king of set up should get with trucks and wheels?
Thank You
Danul11 7 months ago
@Danul11 check out the Pintail 40. It's a great cruising board, and paired up with Original s8s you'll be able to carve nicely. Look for a wheel with a softer durometer if you want a smooth, grippy ride.
Originalskateboards 7 months ago
@Originalskateboards Thanx =D
Danul11 7 months ago
@starcaster1999 sure! The Malakai and Pintail are different feels when you ride them. The Malakai is much more flexible and uses risers so it's not as stable as the pintail. If you're looking for a flexible board they you can make some really quick, tight carves with, the Malakai is a great choice!
Originalskateboards 7 months ago
if you upgrade the wheels on the malakai 40 does it give it better speed?

Hello Original! I was thinking about starting to longboard.
I was thinking about buying a bit of a custom setup:
Malakai 40
S8 Trucks
Orangatang 4President 70mm Purple
Bones Super Red
Will this setup cause wheelbite? Or should i purchase this? Thanks :D
Bojpen 7 months ago
@Bojpen you wont get wheel bite, the 70mm wheels fit fine!

can i put on the malakai 74 mm wheels?
pls help it's really important
greentey 7 months ago
@greentey we do not use anything bigger than 70mm wheels on the Malakai or else you will get wheel bite.
Originalskateboards 7 months ago
@Originalskateboards ok thank you.. but now it's needless because someone has stolen it and I have no money for a new one -.-

surfda808style 8 months ago
@surfda808style upgrade to the s8 trucks and you can put whatever 70mm wheels you want depending on the type of riding you plan to do. Hard= sliding, soft= sticking

I"m 12 80 pounds and around 5 foot.
I have little experience on Longboard and a little more on the skateboard. And I can do little snowboarding.
I want a long board just to cruise down mainly flat streets.
What kind of board would you reccomend, and what is the price of the board?

How will it flex if a 230lb guy rode it? Would it still ride good?
JayBird90210 9 months ago
@JayBird90210 Thanks for posting your height and weight Jay. The Malakai will be a bit too flexible for you at 230Lbs, try the Pintail 43 or Pintail 46, that should work perfect for you.

PakAttack93 9 months ago
This is a disgrace to longboarding. Its about speed and thrill. Stop fucking touching the road u hippies. Get some leathers and a helmet and bomb those hills instead of molesting them u no skilled noobs.
Orginal always makes the worst shit, these trucks are terrible, decks are trash.
support Earthwing or Landyachtz or Comet, not this bullshit.
