  • stop greyhound racing! whos with me? thumbs up if you are!

  • super cheap greyhound I have in my hand call me from Turkey+9 0542 60000 72

  • This is soo sad! :(

  • @golfisgreat you have no idea what you are talking about my auntie has two RETIRED EX RACING GREYHOUNDS and she also has TWO VERY YOUNG KIDS AGED 3&6 the kids adore them. Btw I help out at greyhound rescue fife and out of 45 dogs only ones aggressive towards kids and that's cause some teenager used to beat her.

  • If Greyhounds werent used for hunting or racing the breed would probably have disappeared years ago or ended up being bred out into other breeds and their uniqueness lost. Half the people who complain about greyhounds treatment to me own inbred little white fluffy dogs bred in puppy farms.

  • the guy that killed thousands of greyhounds was british and convicted....he was paid £10 per greyhound he killed. greyhound abuse is real and happens every day. I adopted two, best thing i ever did. thank you for this video and the message it gives

  • Erm if you really knew what happens to greyhounds you wouldnt be saying thiss. i work with racing dogs. and WE DO NOT PUT THEM DOWN. HANG THEM WHATEVER YOU THINK. thats why we have re-homing centre's al over the country.

and if there is no room in the centre's we keep them at our kennels.

we do not do anything your trying to get across.

    so fuck off u prick

  • Fuck you

  • They werent put on earth to make money for you sick fucks.

If you dont want em give em to a SHELTER or something like THAT. Killing them cuz they dont make you money, is that fair? How would you like it if you had to race and then youd be beaten if you didnt win? Im talkin to you ppl who abuse these wonderful creatures.

  • Could you please send me the name and contact place for that guy who killed 10.000 greyhounds?I would need a picture of him and some proof that he killed so many dogs.

  • I love greyts and would love to see laws in place that all ex -racers be given to GAP for rehousing. However I would also like to see photos of the 10,000's of badly treated animals but am continuously seeing the same photos in vids like this. Surely if the problem is endemic there would be less re-runs of the same photos.!

  • poor greyhound...... i am adopting one soon!! two actually

  • I will go home and give by grey, Farley a big hug tonight!

  • We have two retired greyhounds alongside our racers, broods and pups, they make the best pets, sweet natured, affectionate, lovely dogs!

  • this video broke my heart, i just lost my dog that i loved so much all my life. and seeing this horrific video made me wonder why, why do people do this to this loving animal? and now in my country they are planning to build a dog racing facility, i need to stop them, i will help PETA stop this insanity. they should be love, not run to death..

  • @mayalim PETA are insantity, if you support them, then you support them destroying healthy dogs.

  • @plynlimon how come? but they are the one's stopping this senator of ours not to sign this law they made to legalize dog racing.

  • @mayalim And murder how many dogs each year? If you support them then shame on you.

  • I am the fortunate owner of three ex-racing greyhounds and one whippet. Two of mine were rescues the two others were surplus to requirements I could not ask for better familymembers.

  • it's very difficult to watch these animals suffer at the hand of soul-less humans...but we need to raise awareness and graphic displays of reality help to save these dogs. we got our grey from a no-kill track. she is a lucky one.

  • We are adopting a retired racing greyhound. Lucky for ours he never won a race and he is only 2 years old. I wish I could save them all. They are more than a dog, they indure so much and all they really want is LOVE. Ours is only 3 weeks off the track and everything is alien to him. He is a sweet soul! Thank God for the rescue groups!

  • Great video! I just lost my Greyhound to cancer this year. She was 11 1/2 years old and we had her for 9 1/2 wonderful years. I just rescued two new wonderful greyhounds. I will always have a Greyhound next to me for the rest of my life.

  • This has broken my heart. When I have the funds, I will absolutely get a greyhound and perhaps another dog that needs to be rescued. I had a rescued German Shepherd for 15 years and had to put him down in May. I can't understand the cruelty to any of Creator's creatures. I hope all those involved of killing and hurting these helpless souls get a huge karmic payback big time. Bless all of you who have helped the greyhounds (and any other living thing).

  • if u get another dog with the hound it will hurt it they are very very mean when it comes to other dogs people and children i kill all my dogs that cant race

  • greyhounds are not vicious. My father is a trainer, and i feel no qualm about letting my 2yr old play with them, they are very relaxed and loyal. GREAT with kids, My own dog Julie has saved my baby sisters life by killing a snake that almost bit her. My fathers dogs used to sleep around my cot to protect me. He has 4 greyhounds and 3 jackrussels, they get along great. You just cant treat your dogs with care so they go mad. Its your fault if they turn cruel. Our dogs run because they like it.

  • golfisgreat, your head is up your butt to high. You have no clue about greyhounds or any breed of dog. Do the dogs a favor, don't ever own any again for the rest of your pathetic little sick life. You are a murderer!!

  • do u no what you are even talking about? greyhounds are the most loving dogs evr!!!! ive had tons of them and helped foster thm

  • @golfisgreat123 idiot go die

  • we have an adopted one named pip and he is awesome and really playful, in a couple of years we may adopt another. :)

  • We adopted Isis from the Seabrook Race track last February 2009. In October 2008 she fractured 4 bones in her left hind foot coming around the second turn in a race. When we adopted her she was in a tiny cage with only shredded paper for bedding. She had never seen a bicycle, a jogger, a house or even another breed of dog. These dogs are so sweet and gentle. It is time to end this cruel "sport". Please adopt today. You will be happy you did.

  • I have two Greyhounds one aged eight who raced until he was nearly five ( a long time in racing ) and the other is only twenty two months old who didn`t make the grade . They are truly amazing dogs . I would reccomend Greyhounds to anyone they make loving , loyal and funny pets . I read somewhere " saving one Greyhound may not change the world , but it will certainly change the world for that one Greyhound ".

  • i my family adopted my Greyhound almost 12 years ago she's the best, when we got her one of her she already has a scar across the top of her eye and we still dont no how she got it but she has been the best dog we have ever had full of love and such a lazy bone's :)

  • sad sad sad sad hoew they get killed

  • I know that some greyhounds LOVE and enjoy their racing career. But 30 000 greyhounds ar killed every year because they no longer race. They are mistreated, starved and abused.

  • Please dont stereotype all greyhound owners! I have had racing greyhounds since i was 15 years old and i have always made sure they have a great home to go after racing! Sadly a few and it is a few have given the sport a bad name! They are wonderful dogs and deserve the best!

  • @passportpapa i wish you were right but greyhound abuse is so common in racing....im glad you rehome yours wish others did too

  • Me and my fiance have 2 of these wonderful dongs. Ive had one for 6 years and the other just around a month now. They make amazing pets. Anyone thinking about geting a dog should chose greyhounds, they are so loving, lazy and are just so funny. It is so cruel the way they are treated, no animal deserves it

  • Adopting a greyhound was THE best thing I could have ever done. He's so gentle and loving. He's amazing with my son and has such an enjoyable temperment. He's brought such joy to our lives. Adopt a greyhound...you won't be sorry.

  • they are so beautiful, Im dying to adopt one =)

  • Awesome video and message my friend. Your dogs are absolutely beautiful. So sorry for the loss of your beautiful boy. You have done an awesome job and I would stand with you on this anyday.

  • Brilliant video showing the cruelty behind Greyhound racing, people say its in their blood to race but those that say that are ignorant and probably those that race their dogs, those that own a greyhound know the truth these dogs are lazy and would rather lie down on a nice couch. 55555s faves brilliant. Thank You

  • Apparently, you've never taken your dog to any kind of "fun run"... once they hear the lure working, they're tuned in and ready to roll.

A shame you've taken that spirit out of your retired racer.

  • If you're moved by this, don't let an opportunity to adopt a retired racer pass you by. You won't be disappointed. They are great dogs, and seem instinctively grateful for a chance at a new life. There's probably a greyhound relocation agency near you.

  • greyhounds are the most beautiful natured dog, its so sad they're forced into racing and know no other life. I wish they were given a chance as a pet from a puppy instead of being shoved into racing. We have 3 adopted greyhounds.. I wish we could have them all, i hate to think of what happens to them everyday, just because they're 'not fast enough'. bullshit. they fly like the wind, no matter what.

  • hear at the race track in birmingham, ala they wold killed them after they retired them so the people in alabama did something about it now when they retired them they adopted them we have a law hear in alabama no killing dogs they should live not be treated bad if you don,t have a law to protect greyhound in your state call your governor

  • So cruel what people would do to Greyhounds :(

  • I adopted a white/black female from Retired Greyhound Trust in Sheffield.

She is a brilliant pet, gets on well with our two cats, and loves my twin boys(2 weeks old) and i cant imagine my life without the dog.

She is so loyal and loving, and all she needs is food and shelter, and 20 minutes of exercise, its so easy and rewarding to do.

  • Beautifully done video. humans make me sick! I own 4 greys right now and volunteer for an adoption group. They are the BEST pets in the world!

  • I had two of these wonderful dogs for almost 10 years. The least demanding, trouble-free, loving pets I have ever had. All they want is love and to please. When my male died at age 14, my female (age 10) died within 3 months, I think of a broken heart. Anyone would be smart to adopt one of these fantastic animals!

  • Thank you for putting this out there. I have a greyhound, he is a joy! He was not fast enough for the track, I hate to think of what his fate might have been if the adoption group didn't take him over.

  • Excellent video showing the plight of so many. Undervalued breed that deserves far more recognition - loyal, undemanding, loving and great family pets. Keep up the excellent work

  • What is this piece of music? It really works - sounds like sarah mclachlan

  • Hubbily

the song is Shelter by Sarah McLachlan

  • man the worst animal on the face of earth eor the love of monet he will fuck up anything

I LOVE MY WORLDS FASTEST COUCH PATATOS

JUST for 5 min i would love to see one of these so called owners aka assholes

  • They're the best pets ever!!! Can't understand why people treat them so bad... those people should BURN IN HELL

  • i know wat happens to them my friend and her dad own dunsilly greyhounds the greyhounds are treated well UNTIL there branded as useless then they get put down or tortured i worked there the man who owns it has this wee small black greyhound bitch he was goin to put her down just beacause she was small but me and the girl who owns the place aswell wouldnt let him turns out she is one of the fastest greyhounds at the yard!

  • =,(

  • around my place there waz a greyhound i see it most of day it waz skinny and scared but few days after it i couldnt see him anymore so i thought tht he got killed cuz he would never go past our place..... so after i thought to myself someone has seen him cuz theres one house which is scrit and h8 dogz so i thought it might be her.

  • one more thing greyhounds are made for running there the sprinter of dogs basically if they arent sent away to learn how to "run" when about a year old they dont really form correctly or look like a greyhound there spines arch so i think that the racing is good for the dogs you should here them before they run there barkin and yippin in excitement and jummpin and pulling. they love to run

  • If I had a greyhound I would go out for long walks every day.I do have a dog that isn't a greyhound but looks slightly like one and has the energy of one..The Silly puppy likes to run for hours..In a circle, nonstop,He runs around for no reason at all,Just enjoying life. Why can't these poor dogs enjoy life too, instead of LOOSING their life instead?Sure, putting two of your greyhounds in a mini race for fun is fine, and its good exercize,But these dogs get worn out by racing.Let them enjoy life.<3

  • i volunteer at an greyhound adoption center for the dogs that come right off the track they are taken care of extremely good.. at lest you can be assured that in rhode island we take care of our dogs i know many of the kennel owners and all the dogs are taken care of and treated correctedly

  • my grandma adopted a greyhound and he is loving and kind and i hug him and he hugs me back! he loves me to bits and reyhound racing should stop!!!

  • A very powerful and emotional film with a positive message showing why greyhound racing should end. Greyhounds deserve to be treated with dignity, care and respect for all of their lives. I am thankful greyhound adoption groups save so many, yet the problem should not exist in the first place. If nobody wanted to bet on a 'winner' and gain money from gambling this cruelty would be over. Don't gamble on lives, save lives. Thank you for sharing your compassion, 5 stars!!

  • Again; fewer and fewer dogs are being killed every year. There is a huge force supported by the NGA that takes these dogs and rehomes them. Most owners will not allow their dogs to be killed unless the dog is severely injured; to the point where it can't recover.

There are owners and trainers out there that pre-select retirement homes for their dogs while they are still racing or even puppies.

I have a girl who was retired after one race; she certainly wasn't killed because she wasn't great!

  • If you love dogs why would you take part in any event that precipitates such cruelty, more greyhounds are killed than adopted, so please spare us the lies. Besides that, why should YOU profit, YOU are not talented, you are not the fast runner THEY ARE so how is it your place to capitalize on them?

  • K, this guy (BBND1) is an idiot. He has sex with dogs. He can't get a girl so he sodomizes dogs. Boy that was an intelligent thing to say. I love stupid people.

  • Your a sick Fuck

  • I hope andrew gough gets to you before I do. TWAT

  • I bet you you love Micheal Vick and claim he wasn't wrong in killing all those dogs. There is a place where you will meet!

  • Are you serious? You are SICK. What is WRONG with you?! I can't believe it. You would actually DO that? Do you have, like, a BRAIN PROBLEM or something?! I think you're crazy. No, wait, I KNOW you're crazy. Ugh, yuck!

  • By the way, I'm talking to BBND1.

  • BBND1 You are one sick f**** >:( You really have no life do you?

  • @BigBlackNiggerDicks1 fuck you bitch get a life I hope you get eaten by a bear cuz then youll see what it feels like when its the other way around.

  • @BigBlackNiggerDicks1 Obvious troll is obvious.

  • @BigBlackNiggerDicks1 ur sick that username is messed up

  • There are many kennels and rescue groups that are fighting this abuse. Please help them in any way you can. Adopt or donate!

  • it needs to stop now

  • doesn't matter how small a persentage is being blamed. One life is worth something. We are working for the good of the total dogs that are retired. There is no negative to the racing industry. We just want to make sure that all the dogs are cared for. We judge noone.

  • To me it kind of seems like you are, but that might just be how I interpreted the video. Of course I think that every life matters. (It just seemed a little exaderated to me)

  • are you be blaming all of this damage on the racing industry? Many of the greyhound farms and racing groups do more for the dogs than most kennels do (I know from experience). Your "facts" are completely biased, and most are incorrect. I also bet that most of these pictures are either from the small percent of bad farms, or greys comming out of abusive homes (or the streets ect). Most of these dogs are happier in the race indusry than at adoptive homes where they are left alone all day.

  • Not all dogs are left alone, I have a chihuahua named Ginger whom I stay home with all the time and I often take her on long walks which she enjoys. Ok, what I'm trying to say is that doesn't hold true for all dogs like it doesn't hold true that not all grey hounds are not abused. Just trying to get that out there.

  • Look up Scooby rescue in Spain. I think you will find a few of these pics there. NOT RELATED to greyhound racing at all. Don't lay blame where it does not belong.

  • 2gr8grAs ...Scooby rescue in Spain. those are very abused dogs also

  • but don't blame it on race industry.

  • tatalpownage (but don't blame it on race industry. )...The shit happens out there

  • u should encourge more ppl 2 have pups as pets because as it stands with out racing u would have no pets i always buy pups an have them as pets but the lack of places 2 exersice young grey hounds means i have 2 go 2 flapping tracks 2 exercise them proply not in a race but in a solo spin but unless we r provided with places 2 take them we need they racing industry even though mine r pets

  • I have just adopted a greyhound before I even saw this video. Now I wish I had land so I could adopt so many more. Not all trainers neglect their dogs but to those who do....you should be tied to a lure.

  • i can't believe anyone would do that to dogs. It really isn't right. Thank you for making this video and teaching more people that this needs to be stopped! Greyhounds are for pets and not for racing if they are to be treated with this horrible killing!

  • no they are bred for racing not to be pets

  • Thank you so much for adopting these wonderful dogs. I have two adopted dogs, a Peke and a Pom, and we are thinking about adopting a greyhound.

Since I became a vet tech, I have seen a side of people that I find difficult to deal with. They don't care how much misery they cause these sweet dogs...They worship money and that is the sole driving force of their life. It is a disgrace. This dog racing should be put to a stop FOREVER if people can't treat the dogs better.

  • if you wish you could do something to help you can, contact the states in which racing is legal and let them know how sick it makes you to think that they allow such a horrific thing to take place. copy this film in an email to a representative, and congressman, a governor let them know how you feel about the sick practices in their state. it take a second.

  • I know SOME Greyhounds get a second chance, but then I also know a LOT don't. I've heard of cases where ex-racings dogs have been hung, drowned, set of fire, mutilated, beheaded, thrown into a well. The list goes on, and it's totally sick! If an athlete retired, would you won't someone to kill them? Of course not, just suggesting such a thing is sick right? So, why do it to the animals, who where FORCED into such a life?

  • Your Spot On These Poor Dogs Did Not Ask For This Sort Of Life But They Had No Choice From The Moment They Are Born And The Cruelty And Abuse They Face Are Endless.

    Thanks

  • so they are abused from the moment they are born then, do you think that would be a good way to train a racing greyhound i dont think it would be. you train greyhounds by looking after them and keeping them happy and fit.

  • i have never regretted saving mine she is a beautiful 5 year old ... i love her so much everything she does is just a joy from kissing my tears away to just sitting there ... every good person should adopt a grey ... there amazing dogs ...

  • No matter what you say, using animals to profit is inhumane, and I do agree there are good people who care, but how can you promote this knowing what goes on behind the scenes. If you see it, do you report it? Are you vigalent for the dog's sake? People can fend for themselves and find jobs. Did you ask the greyhound if he wanted to wear a muzzle, be caged up? NO animal should go thru this inexcusable life. I can only hope whom ever is commiting these acts of cruelty get's the same treatment.

  • do you eat meat?

  • I make sure my greyhounds after racing find a good home. They make beautiful pets, we have our original greyhound that got us hooked on them who runs our household, she is 10 years old. So please don't single us out, think of all the other domestic pets that are badly done by.

  • You support this industry at the detriment of the dogs. Perhaps you care but, every puppy born ensures that others die. Whether you want to admit it or not you are directly responsible for their deaths. This industry needs to be ended permanently.

  • Well maybe you should send an email to the horse racing industry as well, give that a bit of thought.

  • I have. They send 27,000 to slaughter every year. If you use an animal for racing, you cause it's death. And isn't your comment a bit like a pot calling the kettle black?

  • I have a Greyhound Farm and I treasure everyone of my puppies, I breed with my girls and love everyone one of them, we have 65 grehounds, some of our own and some of clients, but I know all their names and natures and when they leave us I and my husband keep track of them. So don't point the finger at Greyhounds.

  • I am saddened at what I see, BUT this is only a small amount of cruel people in the greyhound industry as is what you get with domestic pets, you tell me how many people neglect their dogs of cats they buy them as a present and then don't look after them I am not saying all of the people do and that is how it is in the Greyhound Industry , so you shouldn't condem the Greyhound Industry.

  • PLEASE PLEASE you have a responsibility to take care of them after their racing years are over.

i was not even into having pets as a hobby. but now, i feel compelled to take care of rejected animals upon knowing their sad plight.

  • where i live there are lots of greyhounds for adoption. why????? cos they were dummped after they couldnt race anymore, if not euthanized. AND ITS MAKING ME CRY!!!!!

  • I have 8 beautiful greyhounds, and three of those are racing. greyhound racing doesn't automatically mean animal cruelty, as i know many owners, and myself included that love our dogs to bits and always make sure they will remain with us after racing. As said earlier there are bad people in every industry, and the same could be said for trotters and race horses. Greyhound racing does not need to be stopped, just the people who commit animal cruelty within it.

  • Beautiful video. I hope it makes people realize that we're only as good as people in the way we treat animals, ALL animals. All animals, even wild have emotions and we should respect them, not use them for monetary gain and then dispose them like TRASH! Please do not go to the tracks or you're supporting animal cruelty!!!

  • check out: grey2kusa(.)org It's a great non profit organization that is trying to make dog racing ILLEGAL in every state. They've been successful in many states. Please get involved. These gentle dogs need our voices to speak for them.

  • If Your Out There SADCOW69 show yourself at my channel we need to have a little chat.

  • its not all bad... there are bad people in EVERY industry. i have 82 beautiful greyhounds that i take care of daily... they are my babies & spoiled rotten.

  • To: sarhabell678 -- are you a breeder for profit for the racing industry then?!?

  • i am not an owner; however, i do work in a racing kennel. i do not believe that there is anything wrong with what i do. if you could see what i see on a daily basis, you may feel the same way. i love my dogs, and it kills me to pretty much hear that i'm a bad person for it. i'm not... i could NEVER take part in anything so cruel. like i said, my 'children' are VERY well cared for and happy :)

  • many greyhounds have passed through my home they have wonderful natures and greyhound racing is wrong

  • this video needs to be seen and viewed a lot more to show the reality of greyhound racing really great video song is choice

  • brilliant video showing the cruelty greyhounds face it brilliant and moving how the song goes so well with this video very well done 5 and favs

  • where do you see most of this cruelty because it isnt in the uk where your from as i have worked in a kennel and you dont that sort of a job if you dont like the dogs and reason why so many are put to sleep is because there is too much racing and too many are being bred in ireland thats and those dogs that get hung are in spain and countries like that only get the dogs that cant make the grade in britian and ireland, and they dont treat animals like we do there.

  • ross721983 Yes MostAre From Ireland And Spain But Some Cruelty Still Goes On Here Like The Man In Scotland Who Killed Over 10.000 Just Because They Were No Good For Racing ? I Know The Greyhound Rescues In The Uk And Scotland As I Get My Greys From There And I Have Heard And Seen Some Terrible States And Stories Of Their Cruelty, But Most Do Happen In Ireland Thats Where All My Greys Were Rescues From. Thanks

  • Only1Sadcow66 i agree some cruelty does still goes on in the uk and scotland some shelters i have been too have many abused neglected greyhounds. ban the racing its the only way to end this. thanks

  • The more I learn about Greyhounds, the more I love them. Some of these atrocities are still being uncovered. I hope you will stop by my channel and become a friend.

  • Poor dogs that suffer the fate of death when they are no longer useful in races. Great video.

  • What an excellent message about the plight of these poor abused greyhounds. Yours were absolutely gorgeous. thanks for sharing.
