When John writes to the 7 churches in the book of Revelation, he makes reference to "him that overcometh" ( KJV ). Overcometh ( Greek= nikao = to conquer, to get the victory ).Romans 8, More than conquerors ( Greek = hupernikao = to vanquish beyond, to gain a decicive victory ). God has given us the victory through the Lord Jesus Christ, and what He has done will never fail.

A study of church history down through the centuries, and even in our own day reveals in interesting pattern: The religious majority is wrong, always wrong. Let God be true, and every man a liar.
I've always find found teaching of this sort, especially when it is so provocative, is much easier to rely on when it is founded in the Word. Maybe you could look into providing some Scriptural reference for your opinions? It would make things much clearer.
I think what the speaker gets at in his "lies" series is the general way in which modern evangelicalism has created and perpetuated bad teaching. I call out specifically Calvary Chapel, the prime "innovator" of the 70's Jesus movement -- a non-denominational church that created many Christian cliches, exaggerations, and legends. Remember the old "...that's man's way, not God's way", as if anything man did was inherintly wrong, evil, or sinful. Finally, I escaped that crap. Keep it up, Pastor.

Which church are you referring to? The one you attend? I've spoken in hundreds of churches over the past 20 years and can tell you that the views I address in these videos are very common.

And I'm very blessed this guy was clarify that.Because between you and me, it took a certain sense of maturity to understand what this phrase actually meant, and yes it helped me a lot in my walk with God.

The lies I've heard Steve McVey speak against are exactly what I've heard advocated from every pulpit from every Church I've ever attended.
The enemy does not want us to know the Truth. All it takes is for 1% lie to be added to 99% truth for us to be diverted from Truth.
I've heard more Truth from Steve McVey in a single video than in 25 years of attending Church.
I'm glad your experience was different, but please understand that you do not speak for everyone or for every Church.
