  • nice! thanks!!

  • Excellent build. I have yet to build a radio , just learning how to construct a set.

I notice that stay tuned has a wave trap coil and a variable capacitor. Would these be a good idea to add to the radio.?

I also saw a plan for a Coke Can capacitor , also variable.

    Thanks for showing.

  • Any wave trap that can tune for the AM/MW band would work. I plan on building a wave trap, just haven't gotten around to doing it. I have too many other projects that have higher priority like solar panel heaters and solar photovoltaic panels. Our new president is going to make sure that heating costs are going to skyrocket this winter, the likes which have never been seen before and I plan on fighting back. The radio stuff will have to take a back seat until the solar stuff is done.

  • Thanks! The is no danger of getting shocked as the only source of power for the radio itself are the incoming radio waves so the voltages present are very low. The only way this could become hazardous is if your outside antenna was struck by lightning.
