So what is a sorority? I live in the uk, liverpool, and the UK don't have them. What do you do in them? It looks crazy! haha :)

@aliso432 A sorority is a social organization of women that dedicates itself to community service and the purposes/motto that the organization was founded upon. Basically--you do community service, and you live in a house with all of your sorority sisters--there are formals, crush dances, fraternity mixers, greek week. And it's a great way to have connections once you graduate because there are tons of different chapters of your sorority.

Oh hey all the sisters out there I was wondering if y'all could tell me a little it of Greek life and stuff because I'm not American so I don't really understand the importance of the whole system. I read some aritcles and comments and it's like rush is this really nerve-wracking period where you try to get in a sorority. Well I didn't know it was so important. How many sororities are there per college? Usually how many PNMs are allowd in? Are there like a fraternities affiliated to sororities?

"Kappa Kappa Gramma" is not an "elite" house, rumored to be filled with loose, druggies. Delta Zeta, Pi Beta Phi, and Phi Mu are the "top tier" houses.

@fionafrosting I'm a little late in responding to this, but I could NOT encourage you more! I'm in a sorority, and it was the best decision I've made! The most fun you could have and it genuinely makes your college experience well-rounded. I LOVE my sisters! I could rave and rave about the great things that come with membership in a sorority. IT'S THE BEST DAMN THING!
