I'm digging the intro my friend! Cool tunes and multiple camera shots. great job on the editing. Nothing like a nice comfortable chair in the great outdoors. It looks like your bushcraft skills are significant.
Crock, I think you may have started a trend here. I used to just carry come snacks and Ramon Noodles in my three day pack...now when I head out I'm taking bacon too. - I think maybe naps and bacon are gifts from God.
I love how you do so much in just 6 or 7 hours, that's true dedication to something you're passionate about. Thank you for the videos Crocket you really motivate and inspire me, keep up the good work.
Dang...this is like the forth or fifth time I have watched this one. The combination of the scenery and music are VERY soothing. - I swear Crock, all you need is some Old Spice as you keep saying "back on me."
What to tell the wife on the weekend when you are headed out? We don't get to spend much time together due to our schedules, but you have 3 kids. How do you do it?
@Xenogy1 I often get up at 5:00am. Play until about 11:00 or 12:00 (maybe a little longer depending on the trip) and head home. It really isn't easy. In fact, I had planned to go out last night and spend the night. Decided to stay home with the family instead. A LOT of give and take, that's for sure. However, I have a really cool wife and she understands that I "recharge" when I go out. I just have to be careful not to abuse the time away.
@Xenogy1 - I have been happily married for almost 30 years. One of the things that I know works is simple bribery. "Hey sweetheart, I want to head up to the mountains for a few days with the guys...here is a 100 bucks to go have fun with the girls or go shopping." - Works EVERY time. :)
I had planned to practice my bush skills yesterday and today, but the chick had to reschedule our date because of her work! >;-)
So Instead I am gonna carry my ass down to the Mt. Fuji range and shoot some vid of my friends shooting their guns and me talking about what I need to do to get my gun (=shotgun, rifle) license here in Japan. (It can be done, just a pain in the ass!)
Have you ever heard of duct tape being used as a fire starting material? I just heard that the other day. That's a new one on me. Bacon might work too...
Cool intro and great music.Looks like this is the beginning of a an inspiring and educational series.I dig your bushcraft and camping skills vids. I learn things every time you get a campfire bacon craving ;)
@kayakfish831 Glad I can help with the learning. I still have so much to do myself. It's kinda fun to think of all the knowledge still out there to gain and practice. Part of what makes it fun. Thinking about the bacon is giving me another craving : )
@scooter17568 I hear ya there. Sometimes I get out there and want to make a video, but I don't want to talk. Full length vid is kinda like that. Personally I quite like it that way.
Very nice. I think the Music complemented this video in an excellent way. Music is always a battle unless you have someone who is willing to let you use their music all the time. Someday I want my own composer for my videos, LOL.
@conleytgn LOL. I'm working on getting my own composer now. I contacted the guy that did Braveheart. Ya...haven't heard back from him yet. I'm thinking I will soon though ; )
Fantastic. You could see from the replies that people want to see more to this from you. You are quite inspirational brother. Blessings to you and yours!
Awesome little vid Crocket... looks like you're having a good time out there. I envy you. Other than the snow that is... Keep up the good work! Always look forward to your videos.
Oh man I am looking foward to the full video! Especially those knife techniques :) Looks like you got an awfull lot of snow....again....we just got rain, I would almost prefere the snow too XD
Way to go Crocket nice vid, needs to be a bit longer though 2 minuts of your out door adventures just aint long enough me. the areas you venture out in are sinply awsum hope to see more in the near future...... The bigguy.....
what great vids man...just my opinion as far as putting music in, keep it minimal. there is nothing worse than a guy out in nature and all I can hear is the music.I get just as much enjoyment out of the sounds as the sights...keep up the great work brother!
Nice Looks like someone has gotten some pretty cool editing software. What did you have in the altoids box? I am not really up on my bush craft. Loved that exit.
@ironmonkeyz its char cloth basically its "burned" more like baked really pieces of cloth in the altoid tin and what you have left over is essentially tinder that does not require much to ignite it, fire steel would suffice to get it going
