i thought this song was going to be a monster live but it just didn't seem to capture the intensity of the studio version. maybe it will sound better in 10.
It's made by a company called Gryphon. It's an acoustic 12 string, but unlike the other 12 strings Dave uses, the Villette allows him to tune to a high D verses the drop D he is so accustomed to playing in. You're not far off, it can be tuned with Mandolin style unison courses. He can now play Mandolin style parts in a higher register. See the SPAC 08 video of Shotgun, the screen shot one, you can see his amazing finger work perfectly!!!
Amazing right!! I was there, the only Shotgun of 08.People argue that Charlottesville 06 was the best version of Shotgun ever, I disagree. The 08 version at SPAC is heartwrenching!!! Being about his sister and all, looks like he's gonna cry I LOVE IT!!!
@deedisdone Yeah I was there @ Trax when they were first taking off and I just couldn't believe what all the hype was about until I went and saw them. I was in Boyd's band (BTB) Boyd Tinsley Band and I wondered why he was dropping out to join some band with a guy named Matthews, I thought it was plural at the time"Matthew's"..haha.
I taped most of the show. Unfortunately I missed Solsbury Hill, Crash and Watchtower due to some technical difficulties. A DVD may be in works in the upcoming months. SPAC N2 is first in line for DVD treatment.

Hah ;D! Yeah I was there.. it was pretty amazing of a concert.. I don't remember this song oddly enough, but it was still really amazing ^^
