  • The one I never could beat. NO SAVE POINTS!

  • I love how this game is more based on the book than the movie. The eggs, the raptor nest destroying, the boat part- they're all in the book. Not a complaint- if anyone who has seen the movie wonders why those plot points are in here, that's why.

Then again, it is still a pretty fun game. I just wish I could find mp3s for the tracks, because I always loved the music in this.

  • Same here! Jurassic Park is one of my favorite novels, it blows the movie away. I think someone should redo this game, and add the aviary, raft ride, the waterfall, the underground tunnel, and the epic incubator room raptor-Grant fight. :)

  • @elbryan42 I love both; they both have their merits. I guess someone at Ocean was a huge fan of the novel and wanted to make up for some of the omissions in this game. XD

That WOULD be awesome. Unless the next film is a remake, though, I don't see it happening. The movie version is just too famous and ingrained in US pop culture.

  • yea i got this game when it came out, and i was about 7-8 years old and it was one of the hardest fucking games i had ever witnessed in my life... many hours of frustration playing this damn game. but looking back on this now my Nostalgia tanks are on overload. i love it! i use to love the elevator with the music cause it would make me feel safe, knowing i didn't have to leave it if i didn't want to LOL -Cheers

  • playing this game used to terrify me as a kid o_o especially when i stumbled into the buildings where you needed the night vision goggles . . hell, any of the building used to scare the crap out of me XD there the reason i could never actually finish the game

  • Why did I play this game again? Oh right. I was 4. That explains it.

  • Awesome! :D

  • this game scared the shit out of me when I was little but I still played it xD

  • When I was little, I was always too scared to go into the buildings, so I never beat the game :/

  • Man i used to love watching people play this as a kid even though the raptors in buildings used to mess me up XD and yeh epic music in this game!!!

  • I find it pretty damn funny that you know where all the dinosaurs will be and shoot them all right before they have time to attack you XD

  • I used to like this version until I saw the ending, which was recently.

  • I tell you this, ANYONE who completed this game deserves a fucking medal

  • That's a pretty amazing gun! Just imagine if they had that gun in the movie!

  • I never did beat this game. I got all the eggs but then I couldn't figure out what to do. It sucks you couldn't save in it.

  • This game has a fantastic soundtrack, but darn if it couldn't use a save feature. I would spend hours wandering around the island, only to have to eventually turn it off and lose everything. Never beat it.

  • lol now i'm remember. that game was really scary as child. guess i was 4-6 years old and it was always scary and difficult. but i tried again and again.. T_T

  • i love the music in this game

  • This game used to creep the FUCK outa me as a kid.I would always pause when I was sure something was gonna jump out at me LOL

  • @wisewarriormuzic IF YOU WANT SOMETHING SCARY, GO TO A COMPUTER. HOLD THE EXIT BUTTON AND WATCH WHAT HAPPENS..... O.O

  • One of my favorite games of all time. Awesome playing here. True mastery. :D

Man, me and my siblings took turns playing as a kid. Big bro got the idea to start mapping out each building so we could navigate better and get lost less. The day we finally beat it was triumphant as heck! Sure the ending sucked, but we got the satisfaction of accomplishment!

I wonder if it was originally meant to have a save battery, but then they changed their minds? Hi-scores never saved, made us kinda sad.

  • This game scared the CRAP out of me as a kid. Even now, as I am 19, this game is still freaky. The music is dark and brooding, the sound effects of the dinosaurs are creepy, and the whole feel of the game is just scary. I never beat it, but I played the hell out of this game.

  • I was 4 last time I played this. Nostalgia is leaking out of my body!

  • Ewww.... ;)

  • Those raptors inside the buildings (and I guess outside too) use to scare me when I was 5 years old. Those were the days.

  • OMG I had no idea they made this into a game and i own all 3 of these movies o.o

  • This game used to scare the shit outta me when i was little XD

  • you really have a think for ooooold games dont you?

  • Hell yeah. :)

  • the music in this game is awesome. i hated this game though. i used to get lost in the first person shooter sequences. ughh.... never beat it. i think i was really close though. only had one or two eggs left

  • i forgot to say your fast too!!

  • such an awesome game!! can be hard if you dont know where to go

  • damn, this game brings so many memories to me,i used to play it as a kid and i didn't understand anything, heck i never finished it :[

  • the game was made by Ocean Software in 93 when i played games on the SNES by Ocean their music was creepy

  • 2:47 badass!

  • TAS (Tool-Assisted Speedrun) needs to be made for Jurassic Park SNES, and I think I'm going to do it.

Once you figure out the exacting sequence of objectives and raptor eggs, you can use frame-by-frame recordings and save states to find *the fastest possible way to beat the game.*

Just like the video of LoZ: Ocarina of Time beat under 2 hours, with Link running backwards to save time.

Let's see... Power the generator then clear the ship of dinosaurs? Not too sure that's the fastest way.

  • You can't sequence break in this game a lot of the stuff has to be done in a certain order. Like you can't gas the raptor's nest until you clear the ship first. You can't get certain clearance (it'll just say access denied) until you complete certain objectives first. Trust me, this is the fastest route. I tried finding a better way, but the game won't let you. Plus you have to make sure you have the right id cards at the right time.

  • @elbryan42 yeah I just beat the game again today. Is clearing the ship of dinosaurs dependent on Ray Arnold's ID card? That's the only sequence break I can think of that I'm not certain about

  • If I remember correctly, you need to use Arnold's ID to get into the room with the computer just after the elevator in part 6. So I think it's mandatory.

  • @elbryan42 The only thing you can do is hit the Raptor nest before anything; get Ian Malcom's ID card. Then go for the generators. This allows you to only need to visit the Beach Utility shed once the entire game.

  • You mean the Nublar Utility Shed right? You need Malcolm's card for that shed, not the Beach Utility Shed. Either way, I wonder which is faster, going up to the Raptor Pen and backtracking down (and going back there anyways since you need Security Level 1, required by going to the ship then the Visitor's center), or going down, and backtracking that way (of course making a second trip). Either way, going one way or the other means making an extra trip either way.

  • @elbryan42 First off, 59min is an awesome time. What I'm suggesting, and maybe it's quicker who knows, is instead of visiting the Beach shed twice, get Malcolm's ID card first so when you turn the power on you get Gennaro's card, and then when you turn the computers on (at Beach shed), you get Arnold's card too. Otherwise you go to the Beach and Nublar sheds an additional time each, which combined is more than a quick trip to the Raptor Pen.

  • @elbryan42 You could hit up the Raptor Pen on your way back from the ship with Dr. Wu's card. So you go to the ship first before anything, get Wu's card, hit the Pen to get Malcolm, then go and turn the power on, get Gennaro, get Nedry's card and Arnold's, then head for the Visitor's center.

  • Sorry if this has already been asked, I didn't look through all the comments. When you enter the mountain range for the first time, it looks like you get hit by a compy and afterwards are walking much faster than Alan usually does. Am I tripping or is this some kind of glitch you're exploiting?

  • I don't see it. Maybe it's a framerate issue with my really old WinTV98 card? That thing was ancient. :P

I've had three different capture cards since I recorded this ages ago. ;)

  • Wow...I remember playing this as a kid...some good stuff

  • Great game. One of the greatest original music games for it's time. Love it.

  • The only problem in this game, is you can't save the game you have to finish or else you will have to restart from the beginning (on NES).

It take too long to finish the game (more if you don't know where to go lol).

Thanks to have posted this videos, it remind me sweet memories :D

  • when you go into FP mode, yours seems to run alot smoother than mine and any other videos ive seen on youtube..does the SNES mouse have anything to do with it?

  • I don't have a SNES mouse, so I don't know. From what I figure tell there's two slightly different versions of the game (there's two roms online, 1.0 and 1.1), so maybe there's some performance differences.

I know for sure there's a pitch black glitch room when you push up against the right wall. I could get to it as a kid, but the cart I have now I can't seem to get to it. I'll figure it out one of these days out. My guess is that the one I had as a kid was a different version. I dunno.

  • It took me years to get thru this game, but I finally did it in grad school. Thank the SNES for keeping me sane while I got my Masters Degree!

  • i used to love this came, even now the sound effects put a tingle up my spine

  • Does the music and scenes in the buildings remind anyone else of Bloodwings: Pumpkinhead's Revenge?

  • This was my 2nd game on the original gameboy when I was 5. I never came further than what you did in the first two minutes. damn :')

  • this game was THE SHIT back in the day<3

  • @1987Challenger3 i will second that :)

  • nice video, thanks

  • I think I beat this game legit only once and it took 3 hours. Nice work

  • My sister and I loved playing this for years, but I think it eventually led to my now current digital claustrophobia to places like forums. Someone tells me "Go the the forums!" and All I can think of is swaying around endless passages that all look the same for hours, wondering when a raptor will jump out and kill me. Sucks we never beat the game though. I might have recovered. LOL

  • No way, this can't be the fastest way to beat it, maybe without tool-assists? I just beat the whole thing in two days following a guide.

  • This is the fastest legit speedrun that I know of. I can probably cut off a minute or two if I tried. But yeah, the path is the fastest way, as the game will only allow you to complete certain objectives in a specific order. I've tried sequence breaking, the game won't let you. :(

  • @elbryan42 The issue I have with it is you aren't in perpetual motion, other than things like turning around and using computers. I'm willing to bet nobody but you and I like this game enough to even try doing a better speed run...

So pumped I beat it though. =P

  • It would of been interesting if Jurassic Park SNES wasn't it's brand of OCEAN. Instead it would of been id Software making it like Doom and Wolfenstein. Cause it is boring to have raptors and spitters standing around like fools. And also back tracking to certain places is a waste of time. I think if you have like Ultimate freetime playing this, then it would of been interesting. But I think the SNES verison should of been made by id Software in my opinion due to lack of movements in this game.

  • what do i need to activate the autopilot on the ship? ive been following your video and im stuck at part 3. when i go to turn on ship communications it says access has been denied from this terminal

  • It's the terminal in the Raptor's Pen (it'll only work on that one terminal)? Did you try to do it any earlier than when I did it? I specifially did it after I blocked the elevator. It won't let you before then.

  • when did u block the elevator? just before that right:?

  • Yeah, on the bottom floor of the pen, you push against the box. Then as I go back up through the raptor pen I use the terminal.

  • @kfeese88 Get Dr. Wu's ID card on the ship, go to the Visitors Center and open the door on the second floor, the computer there will give you Security level 1. That lets you go to another computer in the Raptor Pen, which keeps the ship docked.

  • Decent enough game

    PISS POOR ENDING!!!

  • Lol those poor compy's! You made em into crispy critters!

  • does it save any time to run to the raptor pen FIRST, get the battery, then go back up to get malcom's ID card, THEN head down to the generator shed? this let's you only have to go to the god forsaken beach shed ONCE the whole game. same is true for the generator shed, save the helipad at the end.

  • I tried sequence breaking like that (especially clearing out the nest before the ship, then call the helicopter from the ship). But it won't let you. It'll only drop the gas after you clear the ship. Which you need clearance for, which doesn't allow you to access until you block the raptor pen, which you can't access until you finish everything before it.

Yeah, very specific about the order of tasks. Or else I would've cut off 15-20 mins from my time.

  • I love how this game is unique from the Genesis version. They were both great games, but man the music in this version is superb!

  • i finally busted this game out on the emulator and beat it. i could never do it as a kid without saves. freaking insane game.

  • big fucking gun!!!

  • forgot how killer the music in this game was

  • yeah, really underrated soundtrack

  • Simpler is better, I think thats why we love these old games so much. Well, one of the reasons.

  • this was like the hardest game ever but i loved it when i was a kid

  • Biggest jip of an ending EVAR.

Just the fucking intro played backwards... I wanted my 8 hours back.

  • This is a fun game! I absolutely LOVE the music!

  • This game was impossible to beat!

  • I still play this game and still am shite at it, nice SR.

  • i loved this game but i sucked like non other my ass kept getting killed by trexs out of nowhere instant death

  • i love this game! but it was incredibly scary

  • Any relevant character dialog? Any directive motivation? How about music that last longer than 20 seconds?

leave me the fuck alone i'm hunting eggs... And i'll never ever be done.

I don't think I ever want to find the last one.

  • Welcome to games of 15 years ago...

  • at least the music is GOOD

  • i'm drunk on 4 1/2 beers right now,,, typing without any arguments, and it wouldn't be the same without the gunfire and raptor sounds. You can forget the dilophosaurus,, but about 5:30 into it is beyond me and I don't even remember hearing that music... Why the hell did all these people drop their keycards? Why couldn't you use the rocket launcher to open doors? Why did dilophosaurus stand still in FPS? This had absolutely nothing to do with the original movie... Why did grant leave by himself?

  • well i see what you're driving at, but i personally do not care about the unrealistic aspects of it, because i find it fun and challenging in a good way

  • No you don't, you just like running behind the T-rex and hoping something different happens when you shoot him in the ass with the tranquilizer-gun or rocket launcher.

  • so because i disagree with you on one aspect of your opinion of the game, you criticize me for it. people like you are the reason why people argue on youtube, because you people think that your opinions are entirely correct, and no one else's are! and i guarantee that you think that way!

  • Correctness is not the issue. Did I play this game? Yes, I did while later trying it on other systems in addition to unlikely renting the sequel and being utterly disappointed. Genesis has better graphics they say? If so then your right. Nobody argues with a CB radio because they just can't anymore.

  • you get drunk off of 4 1/2 beers?

  • you don't?

  • no. you're a light weight.

  • the mind is distant from the body my dino-hunting acquaintance.

  • totally dude.

  • Dr. Horner (who is actually in the Sega CD version) is the dinosaur expert who helped Michael Crichton with his research for the original Jurassic Park novel.

  • congratulations you are fantastic!! one of the best games in the snes

  • This game had some cool music.

  • Just about to say that:)

  • Thanks for posting this. This brought back great childhood memories. This was one of the best games I played on the SNES. Or atleast one of the games I spent lots of hours playing. Mainly because I kept starting over because I had to turn off the console. Never did beat it though lol. This game was a lot of fun.

  • I liked this game when I was a little boy but it was hard.

  • I used to play this game, and it's a waste of time to walk to long buildings and shit

  • i really like this runthrough thanks

  • I hated that you couldn't save the game. I was almost through, but had to go to the dentist. I told my mom not to shut off the SNES, but of course she did. Never got the motivation to turn on the game again :-)

  • i meant to say out on the ut

  • Yeah, gotta love those old contests. The letters spell DR HORNER.

  • i finally found ut what the letters were there for you had to find all of them then unscramble them to make a name of some person then send it to ocean and you got to go on a dino dig with him

  • I remember my brother getting very far in this game he got to the ship and collecting all the eggs. I think it was the part where you had to stop the raptors.

  • i can never beat this

  • I finally beat this game today!!!! I'm so mad though because after I entered my name and high score the next time I turned on my game it was deleted....

  • thats the snes for ya lol

  • i didnt think there was a save for this game

  • Nope, can't save in this game. It's all in one sitting, no continues.

  • This game is so confusing, ¿how do u know what do u have to do? ¿where to go? Did u get it just walking without an specific destiny?

This game has no objectives, and the banner of the eggs/dinos info piss me off!!!

  • this was the first video game I ever owned. I was young so I didn't know what the hell I was doing but again, I was young so I didn't need to know what the hell I was doing.

I just enjoyed the fact that I was walking around Jurassic Park. I remember I went crazy when the trex came out. LOL

Can you also put a vid of the sequal to this game on here if you haven't already. itwas so much cooler. It was a 2D shooter.

Just a request. Don't do it if you have to go out of your way to do it.

  • too bad you count save

  • First FPS i owned :)

  • Man, this game was great. I loved the first person view in the buildings. And Alan Grant looks like a midget.

  • Is this the only speedrun on youtube, anyway It is a good run becuase it is fast. You could have improved on mundane things, like turning around corners and such, but what do I know, I've never even played the game. (I remember seeing it in a toys r us when I was like 5 lol)

  • Thanks. :)

The turning corners is tougher than it looks. It's quite choppy. Maybe, however, it would be easier with a SNES mouse, but I don't have one anymore.

But controller-wise, this is almost as fast as you can get. I know I beat it six seconds faster before though. :P

  • i still play tis just for the heck of it when im bored lol i always thought you couldnt beat it, u just killed dinosaurs so thats what i did haha

  • me and my bro beat earthbound together a couple months ago. Omg my bro he is never home and i really miss him now around!! omg memories

  • i hella remember playing this. i sucked bad, though

  • The music is awesome. I loved and hated this game so much. Loved it because it was cool and hated it because i used to suck at it.

  • I used to hate the 3d rooms they all looked the same to me

  • it does bing back memories

  • i can beat in like a 1 hour and 10 minutes, thats my record at least. back when i was a kid i used to be scared of the t rex, lol

  • dude you killed this game lol made it beg

  • i remember this game...it was hard as shit

  • Thanks for putting this up, this game brings back memories.....

  • yeah I remember when me and my brother used to play,ah good memories *wipes watery eyes*

  • Buahahaha :D

  • I know,I wish it can be 1998 again.wow would I be happy if were 1998.then I would play my SNES with my bro all day.

  • Bien, no sabia que se tenia que ir al barco recien comenzaba el juego, saludos =)

  • ur good

  • hey dude thanx for putting these videos up. i always wanted to beat this game as a kid but never could cause i always got stuck but this should help me out.
