Going to an IFB church won't get you to heaven, no church will. Jesus is the only way. I thank God for the church he has giving me to be a part of on my journey.
IFB churches are all about control. Inevitably someone challenges the preacher or a deacon and all the twisted behavior of the leaders and members comes to light haha then they take sides split and start over like nothing happened
@lkwyguy Not only IFB churches. Haven't you never read the Bible? It was all over the place! So what you say is really irrelevant, because they apply to all churches run by human beings.
The Independent Fundamental Baptist churches are very comparable to the Mormons and the Jehovah's Witnesses with their "door-to-door visitations." Also, they wear suits very similar to the Mormons and Jehovah's Witnesses.
@Kyouryuu5000 So, they have zeal and bad doctrine, while we IFBers try to correct the doctrine but have the same zeal. Door-to-door visitation was the method of the Acts First Century Church.

@andymacvb I'm truly sorry for your bad experiences, and don't doubt you had them. I've attended 4 IFB. First began well, ended very poorly.Ssecond was fine, third was fine, the one I'm in now is the most awesome and spiritually growing one I could ever ask for. Some of my experiences were very bad, but they were due more to misguided legalism than anything else. These four churches have been over the last 30 years. I have also been in charismatic and Southern Bapt. There are good/bad in any.

I belong to a IBF Church, Love it. Not perfect, but I thank God for it. It has a Loving heart for God and people.

I went to an IFB church when I was young (by no choice of my own), and can tell you stories that would make you sick to your stomach.
