i have canon s5is, and it is the best simi-pro camera

zooming, pic quality and options are just GREAT.

Also there's two lights , one green and the other one is red , it is calculating the distans & adjusting the focus automaticaly. Eazy to use :)

you can get adaptors + PL\UV...etc filters+macro\4 size's of micro and fish eye lenses+2X or 3X telephone lens for S5IS in the market with low price

i will never change my Canon S5IS :)

I have this camera but im having problems with it. I film a lot of video with it. But when I plug it into computers to transfer, a lot of the time It will mess up and cant transfer. on some PCs it works, others it doesnt. Sometimes I can see the removable disk and just drag the pics and vids i want but other times it gives me those photo importing things and those never work. Does it depend on the SD card or is it the camera ?

There is a reason for that. Although a lot of companies try to push the digital zoom in their products as a big selling point....it's not. The most important zoom in ANY device such as a camera, video recorder, telescope etc. is the Optical Zoom. The higher the better in Optical zoom, and you will get pure clarity if the lens is of decent quality. Digital zoom is useless in most cases. It's not a true zoom because it enlarges the image by adding pixels that aren't really there...adding noise.

Install the CHDK software onto your camera's memory card. The Scripting you need is called an "intervelometer". Just search for CHDK... there's heaps on info on how to set it up.

Great video review by Logan. I've owned this camera since November '07 and I truly love it. It takes amazing pictures, and I never leave home without it! :) I strongly recommend this for anyone looking for a digital camera. the canon Powershot S5 IS is good for day time pictures, but not so much night time. The sony cyber-shot DSC-H50 is good for night time photos, but not so much day time... i like the canon S5 IS better! i am saving up for it ^^

Yes it Records in Stereo Audio [Most Cameras only do Mono...] The Video is pretty good. I use it for my videos on my main account.

I have a s5is as well. I did something like a scotch tape on top of the release with a little plastic ball in the middle. It works. I think you have to use a quick sd card . Hope it helps you and take care

i use NiMH batts. with those it depends on the mah (milliampere hours) i get about 500-700 photos from a good set of 2700maH batts. some good ones that dont loose charge when stored are the sanyo Eneloop. they are $8 for 4 AA's, but you can get cheaper ones for 2 or $3 for a set.

It depends on the size of the SD card you have installed. At 60 FPS (frames per second) you burn 2mb a second so 33 min clip at highest res. will fill up a 4 gig card, and you can go down to 30fps at a resolution of 320x240 at the low end and 3264x2448 on the large end. at 320x240 and 30fps a 1min clip is 48 megs, when converted to flv it is arround 7 megs. here is a clip i made on the S5, then converted to FLV. it is indoors and in low light.

to do so, you have to put the camera on a stable ground and use a shutter speed of over 2 sec. (use manual mode for this) i've never tried to shot a picture like this but i want to do! =/

Save yourself some money, I have a S2IS only difference I see from this camera and the S2IS is this is 8MP and the S2 is 5MP. S2 is a great camera for the money(now), i bought mine in 2006 new for 350 bucks. You can get a S2 for about 200 bucks now.

ok i just unpacked and turned on this camera.. ran outside took some pictures and when i looked at them on the computer the picture quality sucked hard.. anyone no how to get it better? :S my Sony Ericsson K800i mobile phone with 3.1MP takes better pictures :/
