i luv the end of the game :) beats any other game ive ever played and many many movies ive seen. wat ruined the entire game was that snake didnt shoot himself and raiden didnt get crushed by the sub :( but hey theyre prolly moving on and making another one! according to many fans kojima still has alot to explain

The trailer your referring to did say "X years since Big Shell". But in that case, "X" did not mean "10". That trailer was an older one, and at the time it was released, the game's time setting was still a mystery. So "X" was just referring to a random amount of time. MGS4 takes place in 2014 and the events at Shadow Moses took place in 2005. So, yes, it WAS nine years ago. The Big Shell Incident took place in 2009; Five years before MGS4.

Actually, Ocelot is one of the patriots in MGS2, you can learn that Liquid Ocelot has chosen because he knows where the Patriots are and that he will find it
How would he know? It's Liquid, not Ocelot. Ocelot channels Liquid's dead spirit through his arm because Ocelot's father is The Sorrow, a spirit-channeling medium. That's why Ocelot is able to bring Liquid's spirit to him through the arm, but it took him over.
I'm greatly interested in seeing what kind of role Olga's daughter will play. For Kojima to factor in a child like that is kind of extraordinary and I don't know if I should think she'll just provide mostly comic relief or will come to have a major part in the game's proceedings. More likely the latter, knowing Kojima. I also look forward to seeing how Raiden as the new Exo-Ninja is going to be explained and what sort of development, if any, will take place for him. I hope he gets slaughtered.

Metal Gear Solid 3 is a PREQUEL to Metal Gear Solid 1 and 2. Its about Naked Snake, and how he becomes Big Boss. Big Boss is the villian of Metal Gear 1 and 2 for the NES(Metal Gear is NOT Metal Gear SOLID). Solid Snake(the one in MGS 1, 2, and 4) is a clone of Big Boss. There were two more clones of Big Boss. Liquid Snake(from MGS1) and Solidus Snake(MGS2). Both were killed, but Liquid Snake's 'soul' lives inside Ocelot. Guess I gave a little more than you bargained for =P

well u can actually either get two endings in MGS1, first ending meryl lives and shes the one actually driving the car wen u fight liquid, second ending is that meryl dies and otacon drives you.

Well of coarse, this is a Stealth based game so naturaly you are spying on people. But this IS the first time (at least in my experience)that your infeltrating an area during a war. It's an interesting new way to go about in a stealth based game.
Meryl survived in the end of MGS even though there was 2 endings, the acutal ending goes that Otacon, Snake and Meryl survive together. Meryl was shot in the leg by Sniper Wolf and as Meryl tried to get her gun, Wolf shot her in the arm to make sure that Meryl couldn't use a weapon to defend herself at all.
can we just get it straight that is cant be Big Boss because this is AFTER the Big Shell therfore Big Boss is dead therefore it must be (a) solid Snake
she doesnt die on metal gear solid she only died if u chose to get the stealth camo if u get the bandana and live through the tourture treatment then she lives and otacon gets left behind

I'm currently playing the first MGS game, and Cammbell refers to Maryl as her niece.
But well, I guess there's something I might missed. It's almost 4-6 years ago I played the game last, and I wasn't very interested in the sequences nor codec conversations.
If you play MGS2: Substance, play Snake Tales and you will see that in one of the stories Campell tells that Meryl is his Daughter. He had sex with his brother's wife, and the brother found out and got mad and went to war to get away from them.
no its not canon means that thats not the story metal gear solid actually follows. Meryl being Campbell's daughter is more of a comedy bit added in extra. Its not actually a MGS story element.
I think that it's also noted that in 5:04 Campbell's vioce changes when he says, "Will you tirmanate Liquid" I think though not a %100 sure but this sort of sounds like Revolver Ocelot. It could be and again I may be wrong that Revolver will help Snake on this mission. In MGS2 Revolver had a huge dislike that Liquid can control him and he went so far into trying not to do anything. again I may be wrong but I think that Revolver will try to help Snake.

I enjoyed this guys analysis, I've played Metal Gear since.. Solid on the playstation. I did plan on figuring out some mysteries when the game came out but instead I'm ravaging the internet instead, go figure.

PMC dont identify themselves wit any country. they operate under outer haven which was created by big boss. that was his dream. but the pmc's are fightin a war in an unidentified country in the middle east. the middle east isnt the only scene u'll see in mgs4, some south american country too

well u can actually either get two endings in MGS1, first ending meryl lives and shes the one actually driving the car wen u fight liquid, second ending is that meryl dies and otacon drives you.

Well of coarse, this is a Stealth based game so naturaly you are spying on people. But this IS the first time (at least in my experience)that your infeltrating an area during a war. It's an interesting new way to go about in a stealth based game.

Meryl survived in the end of MGS even though there was 2 endings, the acutal ending goes that Otacon, Snake and Meryl survive together. Meryl was shot in the leg by Sniper Wolf and as Meryl tried to get her gun, Wolf shot her in the arm to make sure that Meryl couldn't use a weapon to defend herself at all.

Exactly, this is Solid Snake prematurely aged because he's a clone of Big Boss. It was Big Boss in MGS3 which plot is set in the 1960's.

As far as I know, Maryl IS Cammbell's niece.
I'm currently playing the first MGS game, and Cammbell refers to Maryl as her niece.
But well, I guess there's something I might missed. It's almost 4-6 years ago I played the game last, and I wasn't very interested in the sequences nor codec conversations.
I am now though.
So there's a lot of "new" information for me now.

If you play MGS2: Substance, play Snake Tales and you will see that in one of the stories Campell tells that Meryl is his Daughter. He had sex with his brother's wife, and the brother found out and got mad and went to war to get away from them.

no its not canon means that thats not the story metal gear solid actually follows. Meryl being Campbell's daughter is more of a comedy bit added in extra. Its not actually a MGS story element.

I think that it's also noted that in 5:04 Campbell's vioce changes when he says, "Will you tirmanate Liquid" I think though not a %100 sure but this sort of sounds like Revolver Ocelot. It could be and again I may be wrong that Revolver will help Snake on this mission. In MGS2 Revolver had a huge dislike that Liquid can control him and he went so far into trying not to do anything. again I may be wrong but I think that Revolver will try to help Snake.
