  • Very nice video. I saw a guy put a small rebel fishing lure at the end of each wing, then back the kite into a lake. He caught a small fish that tore up the kite. Expensive experiment. Thanks again.

  • Thats some quite nice music in the background. whos the author? title?

  • Djuma Soundsystem - Les Djinns

  • Is dit in oostduinkerke? Ik heb vele jaren gekite met mijn revolution in nieuwpoort, denk niet dat ik jou ooit gezien heb... Dit jaar is het er niet van gekomen jammergenoeg.

  • Hi, no it's in Knokke Heist, just past the sailing club at the end of the promenade.

  • fertiges ding... xD

  • Great video..I have been flying sports kites for around three years.. watching this makes me want to get a Revolution Kite.

  • Yeah, Funny, but maybe bad for the kite ?, not dangerous for the spinaker ? but good :) :) :)

  • Good point! I've added a little warning to start of the video. And it's not as if we can afford to replace a Rev every month is it? ;-) I think the best advice would be to wash the kite with non-salty water after flying like this and dry it properly, but even though, it's definately going to put extra wear and tear on everything. I'd be interested to hear if anyone has found their Rev fall to bits after flying like this many times - Mine's old and wearing out where the venting is...

  • Thanks for the video. I can't wait until I get a revolution kite. This only adds to my excitement.

  • It's a four line kite - that's what gives it the ability to fly like that. Basically, the amount of "thrust" on each side of the centrepoint can be controlled independently. It's like riding a bike - impossible at first, but you gradually get the hang of it. In my experience it takes a good few hours before you start to be able to subtly control the kite. You definately need patience at first!

  • Great video, I fly rc planes but this makes me want to try one of these kites, I had a Peter Powel stunt kite years ago and enjoyed that, but this is amazing the way it can stop dead, go backwards etc. Is it like the wing principal, down for dive and up for climb, is it easy to learn.

  • i tryed this today with my rev, i had to put really hard to got it to come back up...almost paniked lol...i pulled only on the top lines. but i was afraid the lines would break

  • And what happened? Did the kite come out of the water OK? Definately don't panic! :-)

  • the kite came up yes ;) it just scared me a bit that it didnt seem to react on me pulling it....it did though...just very slowly

  • Thanks, great video.....but whots the music i love it !!!!

  • It's Djuma Soundsystem - Les Djinns - isn't it a great track?! Always takes me somewhere special when I hear it.

  • also might note, do not try this in moving water.

  • I hope you're not talking from painful experience... ;-)

  • no just trying to be helpful

  • IMO, the coolest thing about flying in the water is that you can actually control the kite while it is in the water. You can go in LE first, then turn around, and come out in the same direction.

  • The revolutions kites never cease to amaze me...I didn't know they were amphibious!

  • I'm completely stunned, makes me want a Rev soooo much

  • Great video (5/5), Thanks for sharing.

  • The only other things to remember are: 1. The kite will be heavier because of the water in the sail, bridles, line and spars so it will fly slower and heavier and you've got to be careful to fly sensitively otherwise you might break a spar 2) Reversing out of the water is bit more difficult than flying out leading edge first because for some reason the leading edge seems to "stick" to the surface of the water and you've got to just tease it out...look at the video and you'll see what I mean.

  • So I couldn't put any text to this video because MovieMaker keep crashing, but here's how to do this trick...in fact it's so easy....1. fly your kite into the water. Trailing edge first is easier. 2. Keep a bit of tension on the lines (that happens naturally usually) 3. When you want to bring the kite out of the water just pull on the top lines as if you were flying normally (but do it alot more slowly) the kite will rise out of the water. And that's it. It's soooooooo easy.
