  • Did you guys Notice that Incredible kid trying to make a flip At 1:50

  • plants get it started. perhaps one or two legits joined in...but that's about it. 90% plants

  • Total b.s. look at the ages in the video. A bunch of young kids that were hired by the show because they were cheap. All of them walking in the same area. Pause it @ 1:19. A large part of that group is in a circle talking. Total bs.

  • 61 people and the B.S posters, don't even know what a sub-conscious is... how sad.

  • 1:48 - look at that kid in the back there. lol

  • Bullshit. Complete bullshit.

  • @dima9944 Not really. Social psychology.

  • @Iced1992 I understand social psychology. I also understand bullshit. And this was bullshit.

  • @dima9944 Nope. I don't think you understand much of anything if you can't get as much as undirected agency and subconscious manipulation.

  • @Iced1992 Psychics aren't real either. And don't even get me started on Santa. When you grow up, you'll discover these things :(

  • @dima9944 Granted. But even more fun: when you actually become mature (as in: an adult), you'll start understanding the difference between _fact_ and _opinion_. Facts are observed by _science_, and opinions are spouted by _retards_ like yourself.

  • @dima9944 hey fuck you mother fucker, have you ever actually been hypnotised before mother fucker. I doubt it . so shut the fuck up you know it all fuck and dont watch this shit if you think its bull shit you complete waste of oxygen.

  • I'm calling BS on this, it looks totally staged.

  • ...and I'd like to bring to your pay attention

  • "Would you kindly..."

  • Bullshit. Why do British shows always exaggerate the shit out of things for television?

  • @crapstacker5 This is funny, like if they tend to exaggerate even more than in USA or elsewhere.

  • The whole crowd seemed to be walking kinda slow and aimlessly prior to the word "now". Aren't people normally going somewhere in a mall?.. almost as if they were trying to 'stay in the shot'

  • BBBBAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH

  • Fucking sheeple. Derren once again proves that the human race is doomed beyond hope.

  • It's called "embedded commands"--secret commands hidden within the normal message to influence people's actions. Here are the words he used:

YOUR shopping experience is an UPLIFTING ARM...can be found HANDily by the elevators. so why not come RIGHT ON (sounds like "arm") UP, and see for YOURSELF... all those customers wishing to REACH UP and GRAB this opportunity should do so NOW.

  • All things wise and wonderful, the lord God made the Mall.

  • lol that's called a flash mob

  • More proof that the human race is completely doomed!

  • Is everyone absolutely sure that you Coca Cola tastes nice?!?!?!?!

  • Subliminal suggestion doesnt work period. Read a psychology book and stop believing people have psychic powers. Watch the end and youll see the people look at each other before they raise their hands, theyre not in a trance their just trying to time their response with everyone else, while they smile like their faking it.

  • @XenovannHellwolf Ok, i've read a psychology book, and i still believe suggestion works, the book even 'proved' it. Second, why would they look at each other to time the movement if they knew Darren was going to say 'now' ? I'm not defending any believe or theory, just sayin' you're probably an idiot.

  • @WelsonSG Watch the video, its obvious theyre not professional actors, just some people in on it and thats why theyre looking around. Im an idiot for not believing in mind super powers...OKAY? Prove hes actually doing it outside of his own show. Whats that, he has no credibility other then his show? Your the idiot.

  • I LOVE THE PALISADES WHY WAS I NOT THERE

  • Lol one person didn't put their hand up

  • im sorry... this is probably bullshit

  • horrible

  • This scares me a little bit...

  • Subliminal suggestion, mind control and compliant sheeple. Darren's repeated phrase..uplifting arm, right arm up, reach up and grab, handily all repeated over and over subliminally until he gives the final command and they obey.

  • fake

  • Hail Hitler!

  • "we hope that your shopping experience is an UPLIFTING ARM

details can be found HANDILY by the ELEVATORS

so why dont come RIGHT ARM UP

    REACH UP and GRAB"

some people reacted to this, the rest is group behaviour.

(You can test it, take some friends, go to a crowded place, suddenly stop

walking and look up to the sky. Other people will do so without thinking).

Whole thing might be fake, but still you can learn from it

  • @cwmyr

Bad example, because looking up when others look up is only survival instinct , our minds conditioned to the real life fact that things above us often tumble down quickly to us due to gravity. You dont immediately do it because others are doing it, you do it because you know its the safer thing to do(see it in time to react to it).

Its only observant to quickly look for what others are looking UP at because it could be something about to fall towards you. Survival instinct.

  • @AlexKrycek411;

if you dont believe me get a few friends a look at some point or object that is not UP

    it will still work.

  • It's funny how this is on the science "fiction" channel.

  • @TheSynthExperience Haha yeah...

    cunt.

  • makes me wish more than anything i'd done interesting classes like psychology at college

  • ...like cattle. and same it is with us. literally. dont complain to me, but do you not just waste too much time on this platform with no result at all?

  • He can stop people in the middle of a war from killing each other just by telling them to put their arms up NOW

  • "so all those customers wishing to ||REACH UP & GRAB THIS EXCITING OPPERTUNITY should do so...NOW|| !!" - hmmmmm

  • mind fuck at its finest...

  • If after watching this video you find it funny in any way and gave it not another thought then you should go back to sleep and continue enjoying your fantasy world while you can.

  • Comment removed

  • @shadows9209 Well place your comment under the troll precentage since its clear your trying very hard to make sure no one believes this kind of conytrol is possible. If your not a troll then thats even worse as it means youre %100 NWO Certified beef and should report to your local FEMA assistance center once the dollar crashes completely.

  • @NeverForget1776 Do note: I never stated anywhere whether I did or did not believe in hypnosis. FEMA is the Federal Emergency Management Agency, i.e. natural disasters. I believe the term you're incorrectly referring to with the beef comment is "sheep", which I am not. Dollar crashing is not a natural disaster, nor is your failed attempt at refuting my "trolling". GB2kindergarten, failbot.

  • This is Conditioning, check out Pavlov Conditioning. All of you dont belief it with your dog.

  • Comment removed

  • The trick is quite simple. Put some volunteers in the middle of the crowd raising their hands to the command "NOW", and everyone on the crowd will be conforming and raising their hands too. Pretty cleaver, Derren Brown rocks.

  • We know mind control exists, but the majority disregard it and say "there's no such thing" or "it will never work on me". To test it, I wonder if there is a Youtube video experiment doing that very thing, Asking you to do something, giving you the choice to do so, and still one does what is instructed through said control.

  • Nazis are back!

  • Comment removed

  • Pfft, this guy has nothing on hitler.

  • These are MALL people. Of course they follow subliminal commands. Hell, they're already in a stinkin' MALL.

  • While I don't believe it was "fake," it was manipulated. There was more to it than verbal suggestion. My guess is that there were some posters up with people with their right hand raised in order to visually "prime" the concept visually. I also suspect that there were a few confederates in the croud to "model" the desired behavior on cue. Add to that the the embedded commands playing for an hour, and you'll have quite an impressive number of people raise their right hand on cue.

  • @Ebo9508 I don't understand why you'd have to presume that additional props were used, when clear verbal suggestions of the act capped with a sharp "do it now" seems to work fine. a professional like Derren Brown can easily produce results using only the few well-placed techniques he displays.

  • @truthslap But, my dear Slap, does Darren always display all of the techniques he uses on a given performance? What would happen if he utilized his skills in subliminals along with his skills in Ericksonian hypnosis techniques? He mentions that "every brick" in the mall was designed to manipulate. He does not claim that the hypnosis was all he used. Why would I presume otherwise?

  • @Ebo9508 or they're just paid actors.

    uk laws =/= US laws

also, they're likely to just get away with it anyways.

I call BS on this. how is it that EVERY SINGLE PERSON DID IT. also, they kept their hands up for so long. also... what about the people that JUST walked in? why did THEY do it too? I go to the mall occasionally... my ass doesn't stay there for a freaking hour. usually under 10 minutes.

  • Just listen to the words he uses. He says "pay attention" at random. He says the word "hand" and the word "up" at very random times. You notice these things subliminally because they are out of place.

  • @SarahofBorg you can't notice anything subliminally because if you noticed it, it wouldnt be subliminal. Although your brain can register the signals picked up by your sensory organs, without you aware of the signals that were interpreted by your brain, thus receiving a subliminal message.

  • it was just weeyid

  • I doubt NLP worked on everyone in the group...I think what actually happened is simple... If you walk into a crowd of people and yell Don't Move!! without even knowing why people will stop moving. also if you suddenly see 10 stopped in their tracks I'm Pretty sure you will stop too. Anyway the NLP did work...just not on everyone...everyone else is just following along....or this is just fake..who knows...

  • FAKE and you'd have to be a complete retard to even believe that crap for a second. Why is everyone smiling and laughing? I know why, because the tv show is full of shit and everyone knows it is a big joke.

  • @jdmark636 THANK YOU! Sorry , but thats a hilarious comment! true as well!

    Frick'n retarted!!

  • @jdmark636 I'm not so sure it's fake. If I would've seen this a couple of months back I would immidiately have thought the same thing as you, but after studying his techniques for a while, I'm pretty sure it's real(This particular scene might be fake, but many of his other performances are 100% real. Also, he has admitted to the allmighty Richard Dawkins that he doesn't like it when people fake their "tricks"). He doesn't claim that he has psychic abilities, It's all about subliminal messaging.

  • I always suspected the people who frequent these malls are brainless zombies!

    Now heres the proof lol!

  • Odd how all the subjects filmed are in the same age group.

  • It makes me sad that people actually think this is legit.

  • holy sh** this gave me goosebumps :O how the HELL does he do these things?!?!?! im freaking shocked!!! i would like to meet him aand make him do these things to me to see my reaction lmao :D

  • She is hot and sexy wonna meet her gettop5.info

  • This is mass hypnosis which is against the law! Mass hypnosis was sucessfully used in the 2008 election=obama elected! Thanks to oparh, the internet, and silence of all those who knew=polititians! The masses were duped and will probably be duped again until we find some honest people in government and law enforcement!

  • If this little experiment is true and it worked. Could you imagine what is possible with people who have an agenda? Scary... Well Im off to Walmart!

  • as much as I want to believe this because I like the message hes saying, I find it extremely hard to believe unless I was actually there. Even though the context of what he is saying makes sense to make them do that, it's almost impossible to believe

  • obviously fake with a hired group of 'shoppers'. it would've been more believable if only some people had raised their hands rather than 100%

  • That is conversational hypnosis being played.

  • 1:54 y is that chik jumping?

  • Well so many Americans are stupid I wouldn't doubt this is real. Monkey see, monkey do. Typical weird and dangerous mob mentality.

  • these are bull shits all these are Derren Brown's colleagues, he is like Cris angel.

  • Lol! Derren Brown is Adolf Hitler reincarnated!!!

  • soldiers do the same but with guns

  • shopping experience was an uplifting arm

    found handily by our elevators

so why not come right arm up

    reach up and grab this

  • Same concept behind music today, keep repeating the same thing over and over and people will comply with the message you are conveying. so next time you hear "Put your hands up in the air, put your hand up, in the air!" look around .

  • She looked at the DVD's and counted them. I said "see, eighty in the box" knowing the pawn shop was only supposed to give me fifty cent per movie ($40 dollar's) She reached into the cash register and gave me $80 bucks. I waited more than a minute after getting the cash, then smiled and asked her, Why $80 and not $40 dollars? Her confusion was immediate. I then explained my little ruse. She was at first a little angry but then laughed.

  • Believe it or not, this actually works. I tried it. My experiment was in a pawn shop where I frequently buy used DVD's. Knowing they pawn video's for fifty cent on the dollar I decided to box up eighty DVD's and try some subliminal suggestion. I went in and set the box on the counter, when the lady asked me whether I wanted to pawn or sell them, I replied "eighty is in the box" She of course asked, eighty what? I pointed at the box and again replied " there is eighty in the box".

  • It just goes to show how unaware people are.

  • Derren Brown is so freaking handsome!

  • I suspect there were a few stooges in the crowd working for Derren who put their hand up as an encouragement to the others.

    Still an impressive demonstration though.

  • @GreyLabyrinthine

Actually, the rest of the crowd were probably taken by crowd influence. They see a lot of people raising their hands, figure they should do the same, and do so.

See example: Guy in red on the left at 1:16

  • *Sieg NOW Heil*

  • And there was NO one there with headphones and loud (bad) music, completely not-listening, no deaf or partially deaf person, no one who actually listened to the announcement consciously and thereby taking the effect away?

    I dunno, people.

  • This only proves that people raise their hand to have a possibility to claim a good deal. All you hippies who hate, gfys.

  • This is actually one of many videos that I keep coming back to watch lol.

  • @Atropolis24 just to admit here I like how he sounds on the speakers throughout the mall :P

  • 0:58 HANDILY by our ELEVATORS<--- Im like scooby doo! another mystery solved

  • @EvolutionXEngine LOL, that?s the only NLP you caught? :P

  • @BillHicks420 please, enlighten me.. :)

  • @EvolutionXEngine "We hope your shopping experience is an UPLIFTING ARM", "Why not come RIGHT ARM UP", "REACH UP, and GRAB this exciting opportunity"

  • @BillHicks420 Details can be found "HANDILY"

  • he maked a f****** good book

  • 1:26 Mike Tyson

  • what the fuck. he just gave a command over the shops system.the customers were attentive as always

  • Run for your life sheep

  • @SnakemanJeffss you gotta be more suggestive that that!

  • hes a fkn god he can make anyone do what he wants fkn crazy kunt

  • @Mrcrwned He actually can´t.. He can´t mind control a person who dosn´t want to, and know what he is doing. Unless he has his guards down.

  • at a certain point he says "right arm up" check it out, everybody raises their right arm up.

  • There were plenty of people who did not raise their hands. Those people were not included in the video.

  • ...and I'd like to bring to your [pay attention] some very special offers today....

  • i bet there was one guy like "wtf is wrong with all these people?"

  • these videos are great but the comments sure are generic

    "oh god so fake"

"Jesus I did it, am i stupid!?"

"the government is trying to control us!"

    can you get anymore predictable?

  • this is faker than the moon landing lol

  • Hmm.. does this working the same on making ppl strip?

  • @bobbydog1990 Thats discusting. If you have the ability to do this use it for good or practical jokes.

  • @bobbydog1990 yes, i seen it.

    true story.

  • Holy shit! I raised my hand from watching the video. Is that how it's supposed to work, or am I just a highly suggestible douche farm?

  • "10 bucks to everyone who raises their hand when i do the recorded speech and say NOW! "

  • This stuff is real and is well known. Neuro-linguist, psycholigist and ad marketeers, hghi level government agents and others all know this stuff. People don't realize how easily they can be controlled, and how thoughts and ideas can be easily be planted into someones head. And then they get offended when someone tells them this, when they should be glad that someone told them, and instead look for ways to make their minds more guarded.

  • @Aproxy2 This is called Inception....

  • My arm didn't do anything, but my dick sure went up. Am I gay?

  • what the fuck is this fucking crap? there is no way this happened in real life. It was staged by this monkey supossedly "mentalist"... god i cant believe what unbelievable crap this is.

  • everyone stops walking? at 1:24 the guy waves at the camera... total stunt unless you believe a bunch of high school kids all of the same age just happened to be concentrated at one place at the same time in the mall. I especially like the immature laughing at the stunt as it was taking place. I for one would continuing walking and would have a dumb founded look on my face as my brain would try to process what made me raise my arm. These kids all stop and giggle.

  • He could stop wars!

  • Ya know what's wierd? I didn't even notice the change in accents, until I read a comment, cause i'm american

  • Can I put my arm down now?

  • This guy has the potential to be a supervillian if he wanted to, lol.

  • its in there subconcious :P

  • its like improveverywhere..without the mp3 file!

  • handily elevated too

  • The Sheeple are slaves of the 21st century plantation.

  • he snkeas phrases into the message which people hear but dont hear at the same time and he does in in another video with simon pegg =)

  • he had at least 10 people making that thing! the others just followed. it doesn't matter what he said

  • But I think this trick had an extra help, I'm pretty sure there was an assistant among the people who raised his hand first, so this move stimulated the crowd to do the same thing.

  • @fierced1989 but a lot of them said they didnt realise others were

  • what a bunch of idiots, it had to be america...

  • reminds me on nazi germany lol

  • Wow :O

  • Lol, I was laughing at the people and realized that I had put my hand up too 0_o

  • @UNR3S7 how could you have, they were listening to the message all day.. you werew for less than two minutes

  • @hardstreetbambi

Lol, I have no idea. Maybe it was just a coincidence that I decided to put my arm in that position.

  • 1:20 lol he's like 'yeeeah I'm good'

  • @matatak94

    1:20 - "FCUK YEHA."

  • OH CRAP FREAKY MUSIC

  • I have a theory on this. The announcement probably doesn't work on everyone, but It probably does work on many. Maybe not most, or maybe not half. But here's an idea, what about conformity? If you were in a mall and everyone immediately raised their hands around you, wouldn't you maybe do the same? Especially after hearing him shout "now!" It's a shock to the system, follow by an action. Maybe it's real, maybe not. This is just a theory.

  • this is bs?

  • If anyone wants to discuss these techniques feel free to contact me on my channel and post any comments or questions you might have.

I also accept all friend invites :)

  • Derren Brown will kill us all

  • it looks pretty fake 2 me

  • thats my mall i wish i was there

  • Notice the arm/hand imagery in the final message. Listen for "uplifting arm, handily, come right arm up, reach up and grab." I'm not an expert on this, but I think that the reason this worked is that no one really totally listens to shopping mall anouncements, meaning that it will reach the unconcious rather than the concious mind. Plus, he's been playing through a normal version of it for a while, so they're used to hearing it and kind of tune it out.

  • @pianoelias Exactly. The trick is that the same message (containing "an uplifting arm") is repeated over and over again and people don't listen. The subconscious however does. And then, when the last message is suddenly different, the subconscious is on alert, because of the sudden change. The different keyword used in that last one are then "melted" directly into your brain.

  • @pianoelias The reason it worked is that it's fake, like all of Derren Brown's garbage.

  • @pianoelias yes, that and becuase of everytime the message was played, he said "uplifting arm." its embedding NLP commands into their heads over, and over, and over again.

  • @shortshot14

    This is already beyond NLP.

NLP means you give commands to people to get by their concious mind, but seriously - who is listening to shopping mall speakers? So he already prolly had a lot of deeper access to the unconcious mind than on normal NLP acts.

Its somewhere between Hypnosis (slight induction before) and NLP

  • @PresidentScrooge No, no one is consciously paying attention, but your subconscious pays attention to everything around you.

  • @shortshot14

Of course. But your concious mind is filtering alot of information. Thats why you use NLP to go through the concious mind and talk to the unconcious. But he dont have to do it in this video, so its not NLP excactly NLP.

  • @PresidentScrooge BUT, it is a form of NLP, you said it yourself.

  • @pianoelias Are you saying he planted an idea into their subconscious?

  • @MrMindGasm

yes while they were dreaming, but a dream within a dream ... 3 levels deep

  • @pianoelias suggestive nlp or something like that

  • @pianoelias suggestive nlp or something like that

  • @pianoelias No shit?

  • @pianoelias Or that he's an entertainer and they're all really bad American actors.

Also, the last girl sounded like a vampire.

  • That's got to be one of the creepiest things I've ever seen.
