joplin doesn't exactly do octaves, he works with broken chords. intros to the rags are almost always octaves, except that won't match this as the left hand is playin the harmonies
Yeah, but he normally does broken chords in less of the traditional arpeggio sense, as he normally uses octaves of the tonic, 3rd or 5th with the rest of the chord in one 'block' - that is, he alternates between octaves and 3rds or 5ths or inversions of triads. I reckon you could arrange this so that you use more of the chords and less single notes. After all this is based on a solid chord progression. Anyway apart from that your perfomance was pretty good.
