My dad filmed this with a (VCR) camera! The tornado had just hit my house. It took him three hours later to find out that I took a direct hit. I have the tape but do not know if it is any good. This was the first of its kind filmed, a F3 tornado spawned from a hurricane. The rotation is opposite of a normal tornado as is the movement is SE to NW. This clip was seen regularly on the weather channel and numerous tornado chaser series. I have not seen this clip in over 17 yrs.
A tornado spawned in a hurricane is common because the storm is already rotating. Most of all hurricanes are made up of thunderstorms that develop in the ocean.
what was dam swe^t i didnt know that hurricanes produced tornadoes... hmm i wonder what the wind pattern would ber like unlike the regular supercell storm but imagine two spinning axis in one parge storm 300 km wide

This tornado moved Northwest (!) out of downtown Del Rio up towards the International Amistad Resavoir and actually lifted over it.
