  • I did this to my friend two years ago and she hit the shit outta me. Lol.

  • Im just hearin dis cuse im a 90s babie an didnt get it but once said it a few times

I got prince is so hooot wit 3

    Os

  • Never gets old!! LMAO!!!

  • Best scene in the movie!

  • does anybody know what a record store (wrecka stow) is anymore?

  • @jaymatic23 that makes me sad

  • Prince you immature fuck WE LOVE YOU!

  • I KNEW IT! I KNEW if I typed "wrecka stow" this would pull up! :D

When this came out, friends and I pulled this on tons of people, but it had to be the know-it-all type otherwise it wasn't funny. That's why it's so hilarious: she's reading it in her most PRAW-per uppercrust voice and trying to make it sound like she knows what's going on, and he TOTALLY has her! ;D

  • i died when i saw this LOL

  • Ahahhahahahah x)

  • I'm an 80 child and love prince . This movie makes me smile everytime I hear it. I'm going to the wrecka stow lol

  • Chris: If you wanted to buy a Sam Cooke album, where would you go?

    Mary: The Wrecka Stow.

  • Every time song...if u pay attention, is all morris day and prince ONLY! Listen to ur vocals and it was Prince and morris who wrote them songs. 2 men in the studio thats all. Besties they both are silly like that and indeed prince was behind writing the whole movie including morris's part!! He is this mastermind nobody else.

  • "Garzon! Au vez vous un crayon? it's french." HAHA!

  • LMAO!

  • I HAD THIS ON VHS.....AND I HAD 2 REWIND THIS PART LIKE 1,000,000 TIMES (BEST PART OF THE MOVIE)

  • Man....I LOVE THAT TUX THAT PRINCE HAS ON. THATS CLEAN............EVEN THE WAY THE BOW IS TIED SO NEAT...KINDA DOWNWARD.

  • @dimviesel Morris made purple rain the hit it was. So yes why wouldn't prince copy success ?

  • This whole movie was just prince doing an impression of Morris day, " Jerome!!!"

  • @dimviesel That's not true...Morris Day and Prince grew up together....Morris Day's character in Purple Rain had a lot of Prince in it. Prince wrote damn near all of the Times/Morris biggest hits...a lot of Prince is in Morris and The Time.

  • Ah vay vu on cray on....thats french!!...lol

  • lmao haven't seen this in so long still lol.....classic!!!

  • dat waz hilarious WREKA STOW WRECKA STOW!!!!!LOL!!!

  • Jerome had better chemistry with Prince than with Morris Day. At least in this movie, he was on equal terms with Prince instead of being a lackey and valet as he was with Morris.

  • LOL.. That was hilarious and they made the "ghetto", category bigtime.. Absolutely loved this movie..

  • "Yo Issac! Stroke it a couple times for me, cousin. And make sure you put a pillow up her ass, she like that!" CLASSIC PRINCE

  • Huge Prince fan and finally got around to seeing "Under The Cherry Moon" this is a hilarious moment in the film.

  • i love this movie its like proof for people who thinks he has no since of humor

  • that prince is one sexy mother (shut yo mouth but i'm talking about prince-then we can dig it)

  • Wrecks sto's tanint round no mows!

  • @srasmd We have nice wrecka stow here in Cincinnati, located in Northside, it's called "Shake It Records" and they have EVERYTHING!

  • I don't get it. Can someone explain it to me?

  • @shanedawsonrocksalot wrecka stow = record store, remember when he asked the question if you wanted a sam cook album where would you go and the woman replied wrecka stow

  • @UltimateW910 Oh......Now it makes since. Thanks :)

  • I remember going to the "wrecka stow" to pick up my Prince albums.

    Loved those days,

  • IGNIT!!!. Prince teachin'ebonics.... LMAO!!! Love this movie

  • hahaha Record Store!! hahaha He was so funny back than and still is!!

  • I watched this movie the other day and I can say its the best romcom movie I have seen! I have watched it 10 times on DVD and I have done this scene to my friends and they don't get it!

  • He so pretty...

  • "thats french"

  • By far Kristen Scott Thomas's best movie.

  • @ purplehouse26. Looking for prince & the revolution's live performances at the grammy's & ama's in 1985. Do you know where I could find it? Would like that parade joint too

  • 1:23 never gets old hahahaha

  • Prince feel free to do me anytime! ;)

  • Lmao

  • lmao when Jerome fell.

  • Did yu no dat tricky falls back off his chair rite @ 2:02

  • One of those classic scene, timeless, will always be funny. It's a shame Kristen Scott Thomas refuses to admit she was in this movie.

  • @psychoboysaz Not true. Not to mention, she and Prince even remain friends to this day.

  • @psychoboysaz She admits that she was in this movie and she had a lot of fun doing it but she didn't want her acting ability to be defined by this film. Four Weddings & A Funeral, The English Patient and The Horse Whisperer are films to remember her by, however, if it weren't for Under the Cherry Moon, she wouldn't have been on anyone's radar, so she owes Prince a debt of gratitude.

  • OMG!! This is sooooo funny! I love Prince!

  • disaster...

  • LOL Did Jerome fall back in his chair? LOL

  • I don't know which one is funnier. This scene or the "What's the Pass Word" scene from Purple Rain. Hell, both are classics!

  • @cedzworld Yes He Did!! LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Licka Stow, Licka Stow. If you wanted to buy some burbon, where would you go?

    hahahahahahahaha.

  • I loved themovie too.

  • PRINCE LOOKIN LIKE A COCAINE SNIFFER!lol

  • Catrese and I saw this so many times in the theater and rental it's not even funny! A movie just for true fans!

  • what movies is this?

  • @eazye07 Under The Cherry Moon. :)

  • HAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA.

I can't change the font on my "HA" to make it BIGGER! hahahahahaahahahahahahahahaha. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Classic!

That movie wasn't all that great but that scene is too hilarious!

  • I LAUGH TO THE POINT OF TEARS EVERY TIME I SEE THIS SCENE!

  • After I saw this movie I've used this several times on people and they almost get the same look she does by the end of it! LMAO!!!

  • Glad i wasn't in that restaurant !

  • omg this is so messed up! LMAOOOO hahahahaha

  • they some fools,Prince and Jerome aint right!!! lol

  • I must have missed something....

  • I don’t think Ebonics or slang is a bad thing; as long as it’s not the your only social vernacular. The hybrid language as I like to call it; when used in the right social context its fine colorful and fun…however when it is your only social dialect then I think you have a problem ~ Bryan O’Quinn

  • If I wanted to buy a new NERD album, where would I go?

  • U EVER BEN TO MYAMI BAYBE!!

  • @tibscat8888 To your comment I can only quote Jerome from the part of the movie where Prince goes and "does it to Mary's mooooom"--DUMB ASS. DUMB. ASS!

  • LOVE that movie!!! :)

  • It's ablum, not album. LOL!!!!

  • this movie is so underrated

  • @mizjessica101 You are so right. I've been saying that for years.

  • hahaha i love her face

    "...and drugs! *eyes widen* O.O

  • I havent even seen the movie and im crying with laughter!!! LMAO LOL!

  • if ya wanna buy a SAM COOKE ALBET,WHERE WOOD U GO!!!

  • I love it. This is my favorite scene. I repeat wrecka astow all the time!!! Sometimes with a twist. If you wanna buy some akahol, where do ya go. to the licka stow!!! Hilarious! ROFL!! I kill me! I love this movie.

  • @cutenu2 ROF!! TOOO FUNNY!! LOVE IT! :D

  • Thats ridiculous.

  • Ava voo crayon.that's french.lmao!

  • LOL xD

  • haha. this is silly and you're a child!

  • if you dont notice but prince does kinda talk ghetto so if he was making fun of the way ghetto people say it he would be makin fun of himself he is just making fun of her in the movie cause she is all air headed and thinks she knows everything

  • so funny! growing up a ghetto girl in Cali I knew right away what that was! LOL I love Prince's sense of humor! he's always had it and I think sometimes people missed it or didnt realize it and I think he liked it that way-added to his mystique either people didnt know he was messin with them or they took everything seriously anyway! LOL

  • LMAO!! Aye go headd prince he bee funnii sometimes.

  • classic

  • THAT'S FRENCH,understand

  • omg one of my favorite parts in the movie!! so funny!

  • That's the worst acting I've ever seen.

  • @1annie42 Prince is not a good acter, he is acting like MORRIS DAY! In this one!

And this movie was a GIANT FLOP! Its very silly, ITS A FANASTY! TWO BROKE BLKACKS ON THE FRENCH RIVIARA, HOP NOTCHING WITH THE FILTHY RICH? YEAH RIGHT GIVE ME A BREAK!

  • love me some prince.

  • This scene almost makes up for the overall sloppiness of the movie.Or maybe I just love seeing uptight white girls put in their place.

  • @tabbypappy THIS MOVIE FLOP AT THE BOX OFFICE AND I SEE WHY, THIS MOVIE IS A FANTASY, AND PRINCE ALWAYS GOLRIFYING WHITE LADIES!

AND NEVER WANTS TO SHOW BLK WOMEN IN HIS MOVIES!

  • used to drag people to this movie. no one else was ever happy after seeing it though.

  • i just peed myself XD i remember doing this to my friend keith when we got fucked i got everybody laughing when i did this!

  • @btravislee you did this joke to Keith while the two of you were getting plowed? I guess the driver in the rear wasn't aggressive enough if you're making jokes.

  • @NathanIVV oh shit i didn't catch that till just now i meant to say fucked up

  • @btravislee Just messing with you man....I'm sure everyone knew what you was getting at. (I hope!!!!)

  • lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • omg so funny!!

  • LMFAO ONE OF THE BEST PARTS IN THE MOVIE

  • Hey do yall remember in the movie when Christopher, and jerome went to mary's house, and christopher, was climbing up the window to mary's room, to give her some... well u know. And Jerome told him that it was Mary's mom.

  • @98ft LOL! oh yes! but i still dont get how he knew

    it was her mom?

  • @jfran6 translate this "Mind your business bitch" because my comment was not for you! You stupid and deaf listen to the video it was a joke!

  • lmaoo this part of the movie. lmaooo

  • "Ah Nobu and crayon thats french" He stupid!

  • @19832006 It's "Avez-vous un crayon?" (Do you have a pencil?) and you are stupid. ;)

  • This is my favorite scene in the whole movie! LOL.

  • this still cracks me up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • u know it pisses me off that this movie was so well done, so funny, and so creative but wasn't given the respect and credit it deserved.

  • @HypeRhymz l have watched the movie Under The Cherry Moon many times and its always funny, classical, and creative every single time. Masterpiece for those that get it..........................

    Peace

    Dukejah

  • @dukejah88 i watched this online yesterday.

i cried when cristhopher died man. this was a true love story.

  • @dukejah88 I think that Prince was aiming at something in this film. It would be easy to say he was trying to talk about "the black/white thing". It's more than that. I hope years from now this one is re-discovered and really watched. I agree with you're comment.

  • @dukejah88 A true classic.

  • @dukejah88 Sorry to hear that. That's a lot of time you will neve rhave back.

  • i need to get a sam cook album at the "wrecka stow"

  • That is the funniest part of the movie! Love it!

  • Jerome looked so cute in this movie.

  • to knowledge!

  • Best blackploitation film of the 80s.

  •

  • Ah man! The best scene in the movie.

  • I have the full Parade concert in Stockholm 1986. including the Under The Cherry Moon Premier party. great quality. if anyone wants a copy, message me : )

  • me me me i do i do

  • @purplehouse26 yes i would love to have a copy TjDaPRINCESS is da name...big prince fan:)

  • @purplehouse26 ohh in stockholm? :D I'm born in sweden but i havent seen that!

  • How did this movie end?

  • Prince and Mary go on a boat to a little island to escape from her father and to be alone, he eventually finds them with his hench men and Prince is shot by one of them, very moving.......but in the end he is in heaven playing with his band so it brightens for a moment....

  • sad...

  • @SuzieEyes oh god i can't believe i spoiled it for myself by reading your comment, i didn't mean to, man i hope i forget sooner or later

  • my fave scene

  • omg!! this is one of my most fav movies of all time am a total prince fan! i know where i buy a sam cooke album the wrecka stow! lmao

  • Prince chose to act this way in Cherry Moon because in Purple Rain he was so sullen, moody, paranoid and suicidal. Christopher Tracy was a breath of fresh air compared to The Kid!

  • @kalimaganeshshivan Prince want to be a MIX PERSON ( MULOTO) So bad! iIHAD THE PLEASURE TO MEET BOTH HIS PARENTS!! AND THEIR BLK! VERY BLK! AND THEY BOTH LOOK BLK! HIS PARENT'S LOOK LIKE THE HUSTABLES, FROM THE COSBY SHOW!

  • @jijilog Prince portrayed the mulatto because he wanted to draw in the white audience more to listen to his music. In fact he purposely portrayed "the tragic mulatto" persona to specifically become a sympathetic figure. One reason he did this was because he's a Gemini and has always been fascinated with duality, the other reason, it was an excellent, genius marketing ploy on his behalf and it worked. Even before he did Purple Rain, in the "Controversy" song he sets you up; "Am I black or white?"

  • @kalimaganeshshivan Well the anser to if he is black or white is, He is bdefenally BLACKS! AND BI_SEXUAL, NOTHING WRONG WITH BEING BOTH!

BUT U DONT HAVE TO SAY YOUR PART WHITE, TO BE ACCEPTED, JAMES BROWN CROSSED OVER, STEVIE WONDER, ARETH FRANKLIN, EARTH WIND FIRE, RICK JAMES!! THEY HAD LOTS OF WHITES INTO THEIR MUSIC!

    THATS A COP OUT!

  • @jijilog Actually I'm inclined to agree with you on that point, it is a cop out. Prince made up his mind about that after that disastrous concert when he opened for the Rolling Stones and the majority white audience there shouted racial epithets and threw buckets of fried chicken and watermelon onstage. He then decided that to win them over, he would have to play the mulatto card and convince them that he was part white. It was especially prevalent in the Purple Rain movie with mixed parents.

  • @kalimaganeshshivan I THINK ITS DEEPER THAN THAT, I THINK LIKE SO MANY BLKS THAT ARE SELF HATED BLKS, PRINCE THINKS THE LIGHTER U ARE THE BETTER U ARE! THATS COMMON IN MY RACE! ARE U WHITE OR BLACK?

  • @jijilog Unfortunately you're correct. There is a self-hatred of black skin vs. light skin and that's very sad because there are so many beautiful dark skinned African-Americans, especially the ladies, as for your question whether I'm black or white, my father was from India and my mother is Puerto Rican and French Creole. My mother's ancestors were from Morocco, North Africa and Spain or Moorish/Gypsy blood. I do have black in me and I'm proud of it, however I refuse to ignore my Indian blood.

  • @kalimaganeshshivan Well black here in Americans Specialyl, try to copy EUROPEAN STANDERNS OF BEAUTY! I THINK ITS WRONG! AFRINS HAVE A STANDERD OF BEAUTY ALL TO THEMSELFA, IVE BEEN TO GHANNA AFRICA, AND BRAZIL! I SEE BLACK THEIR HAVE THEIR OWN AFRICAN STANDERNS OF WHAT BEING BEUATIFUL IS! IT LOOK MUCH BETTER ON THEM! TRUST ME!

  • Actually Vanitysadeparis is correct. I've heard Prince talk about this before. That is why he mentioned the Sam Cooke album. Sam Cooke is an old Blues singer from back in the day. Excellent movie!!

  • I laughed so hard when Tricky fell out of the chair and hit the floor when he burst out laughing! Both him and Christopher are hilariously crazy! LOL!

  • 1:24 its so funny with trickys laugh it make mii cry

  • Probably the funniest part of the whole movie.

  • I saw this in St. Louis when it came out and when this part of the movie came on people were howling and rolling in the aisles laughing their ass's off as well as my self and whoever was with me....it was the first movie of its kind and it seemed like we were in the picture...thats what they wanted to create, a realistic feeling that was set in any time frame using old and new concepts that tricked R brains into believing Prince was going to walk out the screen..the way he'd talk 2 the camera

  • @MrMedusaLvamp a movie with a reaction like that sounds like it would have done ten times better than it acually did.

  • @zitalee3 In St. Louis everyone went to see every movie that was out back then...before computers were in every home...and I saw this downtown in the "hood" where everyone understood the lango alot better...so when this scene came on everyone fell out and busted up...it wasnt Hollywood executives who were watching with us...just kids in high school and some regular folks.

  • @MrMedusaLvamp oh manu lucky. i am only 19 years old. i wish i was alive in the 80's 2 go c a movie of his when it came out in the theatres. oh, yeah this part is hilarious. 2 bad i can't c the whole movie though. it's hard 2 find.

  • @debbiecakezify I'll give you a hint: StageVu

  • @tibscat8888 I do believe he's actually making fun of how "Ghetto" people say "Record Store"....not how "English" people say it.....It's called "street slang" or "Ghetto Lango" or "Ebonics"....As someone running 4 the elevator would say "Hold the door!"....someone from Harlem might like to say "Ho da doah!"....See how easy and simple it is to learn?....Now go in Mommy's room and say "Betch!"....I'll wait......Did Mommy slap the shit outta U?....Then U said it right!

  • @MrMedusaLvamp one of the best laughs i had at a post in a long time..ty

  • @badumpy ...Thankyou kind sir!...My compleate and utter pleasure to searve U!

  • @MrMedusaLvamp Actually he is making fun of her because she doesn't know ebonics or street talk, he's not making fun of "ghetto" people. He's teasing her because she doesn't know anything outside of where she's from and he's actually from the streets or "ghetto" in this movie.

  • @Lawless66007 I know....I had to explain to tibscat888 how it is since he's confussed about how it goes down...If U read back to his comment...he said he thinks that Prince's charactor is making fun of how English people say record store...and I had to school him on what the deal was...believe me I know what the point of him getting her to say it in Ghetto Slang was..because she didnt know what it meant....Right...but when u have to explain it to someone whos retarded it sounds all different!

  • @MrMedusaLvamp No because when "ghetto" people say Record Store they're going to say Recod Sto!

  • @MrMedusaLvamp ROFLMBO!!

  • I do NOT believe that he is at all making fun (as one person wrote) of “ghetto people”

If anything he is embracing a part of his culture. … Annotating the fact that it takes knowledge to use and understand distinctively the nonstandard Vernacular as many people try to devalue it insinuating that they are somehow more knowledgeable for not using it. Not true

  • The term that was originally intentional to refer to the language of all people descended from Africans, particularly in West Africa, the Caribbean, and North America. Since the late 1990’s it has been used more often and embraced by some as a nonofficial hybrid language or dialect simplified I think its cool just as long as you know when and when not to use it

  • @BryanOQuinnTV Oh man U really broke it down...This sounds like a class discussion on retro pop music theory! Can U believe how much everyone has discected this scene?...WTF....It's just a funny scene from an old Prince movie that never gets played anywhere.....Wreka Sto!...Wreka Sto!...ha ha...we get it!...Can we move on now?

  • Finger Waves nice....

  • vErY nIcE iNdEeD !!!!!!

  • why is prince so...GHETTO!

    Love the hair.

  • @manjin32547 He's playing a charicter in a movie....this isnt reality television....he's not playing himself....he's an actor.....he's playing a role in a ficticious movie called "Under the Cherry Moon"...we all saw it in the theaters before U were born....then we all went down 2 the" Wreka Stow "and bought the album....yes album...before cds were invented! In fact I bought this one on cassette for my car....one of my very favorites!

  • love love love, i just hated the ending, way too corny . by the way, i have rare PRN dvds, message me for details : )

  • Oh, okay..tibscat8888. Thanks. Yes, this was a funny movie!!!

  • this movie looks like it takes place in a time period mixed with the 20's and the 80's.

  • It's ebonics... record store.
