  • NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!! WHY LEO?! WHY COULDN'T THEY HAVE TAKEN IKE?!!!!!

  • Narrator "Ike's not programed to approach something this aggressive."

Animator "I think I'll have Ike fly up next to it."

  • It's Subulbaaa!!!! :O 09:08

  • all these alians sound like pokemon

  • lol they look like pokemons and sound like them too

  • I live this fugin show watch it all the time it's so coool if onley all this waz real

  • Leo: the ill-fated probe.

I always wanted him in it more.

  • 3:32

    f*** you don't come back :D

  • RIP

    *BALBOA AND LEO*

  • At 9:21, the Daggerwrist is like "Wait, don't go!"

  • thhey should have built in simple sonar system to detect this sort ah thing xD

  • why does the dagger wrist's face look like sebulba?

  • haha it sounds like teh climbing bat-like creature says "mom" at 8.58 :P

  • i, for one, think it would be best if we all just stopped fussing and just enjoy the show. i mean, nobody wastes this kinda time gripping about Star Trek, do they? all this is is Sci-Fi, no different than anything Roddenberry or Lucas dreamed up. stop taking it so seriously! geesh!

  • scientist+spore=WTF?

  • bladderhorn: (in native tongue) we should leave, NOW!

    Leo:........shows holograms

Bladderhorn: (in native tongue) aw shit its them, run u big bastard! RUN!

    Leo:......ZZZZZZ.......offline

rule: listen to the crazy alien!

  • Also, I love how at 9:55 Ike is like "WOAH WOAH BACK THE FUCK UP"

  • @AbortFlight lol, shit just got real.

  • Aw, not Leo!

Leo is in my favorite color :(

  • quick, build a nexus and make more probes.

  • @TensionManORG Haha

  • that was a hostile act! this means WAR!

  • when leo got destroyed did the discsand spiders continue onwards?

  • @whoru2tellme Maybe they morned his loss

  • wow. 0 dislikes XD

  • @stefmaster7andasquid diffrent planet thats why

  • i think those bladder horns cos they look like hunters from hl2

  • Leo got FUCKED up. *sniff*

    RIP Leo Davinci

    3201-3247

May he make good materials for those creepy fucking aliens.

  • @EverythingiP0dTouch haha that's a little too long in the future. but still its sad that he died. i wonder if the scientists will have a funeral for him.

  • @stefmaster7andasquid Why do most things here walk on four legs or have four limbs?

  • Poor Leo...*sniff*... :(

  • the blatterhorn looks like some sort of 2-legged elephant.

  • oooooo wwhats making that wuhooooo sound THE SUSPENS!

  • wher did they come up with the sounds they r so lame haha

  • @massacrelord

    1. I LOVE the sounds, thank you.

    2. The sounds are the most realistic they could get. If you realize it, alien lifeforms aren't likely to go "Meow" and "Woof".

  • Eosapiens suck, I would have equipped my probes with some type of defense mechanism and made them a bit more slimmer and easier to maneuver and turn quicker and have the ability to defend themselves against aggressive aliens.

I watched this on Animal Planet or was it Discovery? Maybe it was National Geographic, either way I watched it and got mad at the ending when the Eosapien crashed poor Ike.

Yea, a nice defense system would have sufficed.

  • if it was the sound of the bladderhorn duel that scared off the unths, why didn't leo hear it before the unths ran away? a smarter probe might've though of thought of that and gained some altitude to look for the thing that scared the unths and the bladderhorn before it got attacked

    oh well

the IQ of a 4-year old is still impressive for a robotic flying space probe

  • Maybe the next generation of probes will have defensive weaponry.

  • Leo...You can't be gone...YOU'RE A MAIN CHARACTER!!!

    Live!!!

*Sniff* He was so innocent...He had a wife and three kids...

  • don't be sad..... he won't be dead forever...... they probably have a robot antivirus system for windows. this is why you should never send a windows computer to another planet! viruses are everywhere!

  • @bubsy385 Steve Jobs will conquer the universe!

ALIEN ATTACK! Wait! I have a Mac! TAKE ADVANCED MEDIA CREATION YOU ALIENS!

  • @cncleader Haha. Conquer two planets at once? That would require multitasking. Damn you iPad!

  • @cncleader and 7 probes

  • @cncleader lol xD

  • @cncleader When you say kids...do you mean the spider-probes?

  • @Bastista1 No, the spider probes were part of the boyscout group that went with Leo. His wife and kids are sitting at home...

YOU ALIENS! YOU KILLED LEO AND THE INNOCENT BOYSCOUTS! I WILL AVENGE YOU LEO!!!

  • @cncleader I wonder what the third robot's personality would have been. Like one of them is cautious and careful, while the other is adventurous and daring. What would the third one be?

  • @ItsThatScienceKid possibly some combination of the two

  • @warcry420 Oh hey you already said that XD

  • @ItsThatScienceKid That's actually a really good question...

Probably just a medium. Somewhere in between the two personalities.

That could almost be a plot hole!

  • @cncleader yea. or maybe one is kind of shy and follows the other two around. Wants to listen the careful one, but gives into the pressure of the adventurous one and gets into trouble. haha. Now that would be some seriously interesting artificial intelligence.

Either that or its a douche bag robot. Just to be there for the hell of it.

  • @ItsThatScienceKid The official Douche Bag Bot! It's morally entertaining!

  • @cncleader LOL!!

  • I love the Bladderhorns so much, the way they look, the sounds they make...

  • Leo!!! NOOOOOOO!

    ...

    I didn't get my hug...

  • should've had self-repairing mechanisms just in case they got attacked. nano tech bugs that repair these machines. meh just using my imagination. xD

  • @macshit900 they should've thought of that except the people who made the probes were only expecting to find microorganisms, which don't cause that much damage when they attack a probe

dumb nonbelievers in large alien lifeforms

  • Daggerwrist= awseome

  • Well, I guess if you are to make first contact with an alien lifeform, the last thing you want is your 4year-old-minded ambassador wrecking havoc with a flamethrower, lol.

  • @MrChairmanboss the way humans are, it would probably be more appropriate lol

  • @MrChairmanboss

    "What's that?!"

"Those are the bastards that burned Bob alive with a flamethrower last week! Kill' em!"

  • @MrChairmanboss lol well 4 years old is good for modern AI you gotta admit

  • Those spikes on the trees could be lethal to the probes... which are stupid to get so close when they should use a zoom function - altitude costs a lighter than air craft little energy.

Why are the probes incapable of self defense? Lightweight armour scale could be compact but cover the gasbag, alternately it could be compartmentalised. Sonic/microwave weapons can deter cats & people on earth, not to mention flamethrowers or running electricity over the outer surface...

  • Since it's hard to predict what would or wouldn't harm the alien life, the passive defense methods you mentioned of armor, compartmentalization of the gas bag, and more use of camera zooms to avoid danger would definitely be best.

  • because they're made to avoid danger, basically their pacifists.

  • @sploonz

Didn't avoid it very well, did they?

  • this is kinda scary

  • How is this scary?

  • the scene wen LEO gets whacked out is scary, the question is by wat. the bladderhorn looked spooked, and looked in a few places, also we heard a type of brrrr brrrr brrrr then the creature sped off, wat was the cause of this horror theres the scariness in this piece.

  • it's the eosapiens

they float and can kill almost anything with their spears

they can somehow avoid detection by predators and prey

only they're not smart enough to realize that cameradisks aren't threats to them

(if i spoiled it for you i'm really sorry

  • @BENTHEMAN11 the sound that scared the unths and made them run away is probably the mystery creature's sonar

whatever it is it could be a predator that they're all afraid of

and it could be intelligent considering it's followed the probes across the planet

maybe its home is nearby and it feels threatened

also, it's lighter than air and it flies

  • @Koga33525 it's the eosapien...I think

  • @fgt73 thanks but i've already seen this on TV and i knew that :)

  • it would be better if they discover alien civilization and how and what kind of civilizations there could be

  • why is it that all of the creatures in this show have no eyes?

  • They use sonar for navigation.

  • They have no eyes to possibly show an alternate form of evolution where sonar and sound became more important than sight.

  • why is it all the creatures have light sparkles etc.

  • @STERENR the spots are bioluminescent spots that light up sumtimes

  • @typohear perhaps they all use sonar, so eyes are not needed?

  • That raises another point: even intelligents creatures that only see by sonar wouldn't be able to see the holographic 'calling card' and thus would be mistaken for nonintelligent life. so they need to design calling cards that somehow can be detected by any possible primary senses the aliens might have.

  • The calling card also makes sound.

  • Good point, the information sound wasn't clear to me in the movie version. Also I'm glad you mentioned there's a book version. What title does the book version go by? And does it go into more depth on the sound details of the calling card, or mention more creatures/plants /in more depth? I might want to read the book if it does, for any of these questions you answer.

  • expedition

    by wayne barlowe

  • They do, in the original novel only one creature (that I recall) had any sort of "eye", and its was practically just a light sensor.

  • i think it was the rimerunner, which wasn't featured in this movie

  • i think sonar is used more but some of the creatures can see like the creepy flying one that stalks leo and ike

  • where is the nanny 911?

  • lol daggerwrist looks like pre-cooked chicken

  • XD internet tough guys who are really 11 years old :3

    get a fucking life !

  • BÖG JÄVEL

  • detsamma :)

  • meh, du börja ;D

  • The most realistic alien lifeform I've encountered in the science fiction so far is the Ocean in Stanislaw Lem's Solaris.

  • The lifeforms in this show aren't very convincing. Basically, the scientists just took Earth's animals and mixed them together. It's crucial to realize that any habitable planet would be still VERY different from Earth in almost every aspect imaginable. There is myriad of features of environment that may infuence the evolution of life drastically. Think only about the gravity! Even cambrian explosion animals are more alien than what we see here.

  • i agree, but i still like this show

alien life (its composition, social structure, behaviour etc.) Could share similar traits with life we have on earth

the sheer vastness of our universe and its possibilities regarding life exceeds our own human capacity for IMAGINATION

we really need think outside the box if we're going to come up with truly alien extraterrestrial life forms. the realm of the possible only fits in the box that we consider possible

  • I like the show very much too. It's important to realize the shows featuring speculative lifeforms (Wild Future etc.) don't take themselves really seriously, they rather use the example of speculative lifeforms to teach how biology and particularly evolution works. I definitely had fun watching this show.
