Elvis might have sold 1.8 billion albums but he made over 100 albums = 18 million per album average. Michael had 10 albums and sold 750 million = 75 million per album average. Pop music covers ALL genres including rock, r&b, etc. MJ is the king of pop which includes all musical genres, including rock. Plus, MJ has the greatest selling album of all times. MJ was hailed by the greats of the dance world as, one of if not the, greatest. Elvis does not figure at all in this conversation as he was NOT as dancer... Sure he had some moves.. but so does my mum in the kitchen and I would not call her a professional dancer LOL.ELVISs biggest selling point was his looks and HIS AMAZING VOICE! which lets face it is all he really needed to be great. @8098991 Michael was an artist because he created music, he created dance, he perfected the moonwalk, he made it possible for black musicians to be on MTV and be appreciated like they are today. Elvis never wrote one song, he imitated what he saw in juke joints, by his own recollections. Michael only lip synced during his dance, numbers. Not even close. There are some things in this world that make you feel good & offer you hope. Elvis had this gift. A cultural phenomena like no other. I am so thankful that He sang so many songs. Even though some were "campy" , He had a song for just about anything you might be feeling down about. He stunned you with His pure talent , on the classics & with humor with the movie sound-tracks.
