How is it that you can predict what attack style they are going to use? because it takes me until after they hit me b4 I switch prayers. I don't think the sound effects are jad-like anymore

@pked87 They throw their fists into the air when they switch. If it's ranging you, switch to magic when the arms go up. If it's maging you, don't switch to range right away because sometimes they "trick" you when they mage. Only switch to range right when you see the range spikes go around the TD. If it's meelee'ing you, when the fists go up switch to magic. You can usually predict range the best, or at least I can, because the spikes is a clear indicator that it is going to range.

Why don't you just hide behind the rocks/pillar all the time? If they switch to melee, they wont hit you right? Or did I miss a part? :p

While it is possible to hide behind the rocks 100% of the time, after 3-4 hits, they'd switch their attacks to ranged/mage and you'd have to start praying. While it is possible to kill like this, it slows down killspeed a lot, since pretty much any close-ranged melee weapon will provide higher DPS than a dragon halberd does at a distance. So unless you want to only get 15 kills/hr, it's worth stepping outside of the "safespot" to melee, then stepping back in to ranged.

Yes, it still works fine (I was just there yesterday).

The update actually made them easier; although personally, I would only recommend killing them in "spot2" now, as you can deal with interruptions easily (and the lures for spot1 changed slightly after the update).

There's another spot that works well w/steel titan, but if you're just bringing healing pets, spot2 is my personal favorite. - Pie

Monster hunting is one of the best ways to make cash, and with the exception of Nex/Corp beast, I would personally vote Tormented Demons being one of the best monsters to hunt (due to ease / drop rate).

Both soloing and duoing can be done with no problems, and the beauty of the Tormented Demons, is there are so many little tricks that can boost your efficiently / hourly kill count, and they're fun (=. Good luck!

A higher combat level helps, but is not required once you know their patterns (which are easy to pick up after a few trips). Higher combat just yields a higher "kill per hour" rate and helps you stay alive should you make a mistake.

No. ROW only increases the chance of getting a drop from the rare drop table (eg shield half, key half) which is shared between all/most monsters in Runescape, therefore not making a difference to drops from a different drop table eg claws/lumps.

I generally hit the demon on a 3rd time of him switching to range protection to reset the timer. I generally don't have to hit him again after that with dark light (as he dies before having to hit him again) unless something goes wrong.

I'd recommend (on behalf of Pie) to use a chaotic longsword or maul, as rapier is a little too fast to squeeze off every switch perfectly. A slower, more accurate weapon will ensure that you waste no time switching weapons.

By the time you get used to doing them, kill speed is of the essence, so higher-leveled bolts are preferred imo.

As for uni vs. pack yak, there's been a lot of debate, but I personally use uni, since there's no pause for healing. I don't find myself needing a yak.
