Ahhhh those little things that no one gives a shit about. That is, until they're shown photos or Youtube clips, etc. This is exactly why I bought my 1st digital camera. I knew that if I could use my dig. to invite people into my world, they would be as blown away by the little animals around us as I am. It turns out that in this way, I have converted many an insectiphobe into insect admirers, for many insects are just as strikingly beautiful as the flowers in their gardens!
I came across a garden snake and a large skink (lizard) side by side next to my apt. they were just chilling together! I tryed to catch the skink and he ran too fast and by that time the snake was gone! Well next time I vill get'em :^D
in my backyard i have a lake with red eared sliders, cottonmouths, copperheads, brown watter snake, snappin turtles, wood turtles, box turtles, painted turtles, softshell turtles, garter snakes, corn snakes, black racers, black rat snakes, bunches of insects, spiders. geckos, anoles, squirrels, ducks, geese, alligator snappers, minnows, trout, bass. a ton more. i have posted videos on my turtles i find. but i let the go, please sub me.
in our backyard we see / have seen, green tree snakes, eastern small eyed snakes, marsh snakes, blackish blind snakes, bandy bandy, red bellied black snakes, eastern blue tongued skinks, delicate garden skinks - Lampropholis delicata , garden skinks - Lampropholis guichenoti, red tailed calyptotis skink, jacky dragons and more i ant think of
i live in Vancouver Canada, and the most common herps around here are green frogs, bull frogs, and LOTS of spiders, of all kinds, but i have seen little rubber boas, gopher snakes, and different kinds of turtles if I drive for 30 minutes up from where I live, I'm a city boy, don't go herping a lot, but the most common herps I see here are females and males, in my favrouite herping area, high school, and it must be mating season
i found a lizard.......my sister wanted to keep it but i wouldnt let her because she has no idea how to care for it properly...lol

This is a fantastic idea-I really like the "underground" - to bad when it's cold like this a lot of the herps really like being underground as well-

the most common thing in my garden is toads and grass snakes - I really wanna find a grass snake this year to show everyone! there gorgeous!
Herper666 4 years ago
well... its mjust frogs and toads here nothign special, but i will show you atters (if i find them in April)
ErikPaterson 4 years ago
the whole point is to make something special out of something that doesn't seem special.
Please show me what you don't think is special, we don't have toads in Tasmania, only frogs.
still I'm looking forward to the atta!
