right now I am using a 12 V Black& Decker drill in this truck. I am using also the cells and the charger which came with the drill (12 V, 1,8 ah). The gear ratio in the axles is 1:2.
I have used also a Bosch drill, which are very similar.
the motor, the batteries and the two speed gearbox is from a regular cordless drill. the drill is about 40 Euro or so. the material (steel, brass) is available at every hardware store. I fabricated every single part (except for the passenger cabin and the wheels - those are from Tamiya) by myself on a lathe and a milling machine
thats cool but at about 1:00 the front axle looks like its got a little play because it didnt engage when the drive shaft turned but thats an awesome truck
the wheels and the body is from Tamiya. I made the frame, the axles, the gear, the tank, the trailer hitch and so on by myself. I have a small lathe and an tiny milling machine in house to do stuff like that.
looks like the slip joint in the front isn't long enough when you back up it is pushing on the t-case hard
very nice work. can you show the ring and pinion in the axle?

That is so amazingly cool. Thanks for sharing. What esc did you use to power the drill motor and how many volts is it?
