i sound like a noob but what exactly does a blow off valve do? do all turbos have them or only the aftermarket tuned ones?

all the turbos has one i think, to release the pressure from the turbo in a smoother way, but it could also wreck the turbo if it's tuned wrong.

@storfighter, the stock 335 and most stock turbo cars actually recycle the air and send it back to the intake pipe rather than "blowing" it into the atmosphere... more efficient, but doesnt sound as cool!
