When I played World of Goo, it kept bothering me when Id hear some of the music tracks. They sounded vaguely familiar and I recently realized that it was this game they reminded me of. (Of course the 2 games are entirely different genres, but the musics are both very dark/gothic sounding. amazing stuff)

This game had a strange feel to it. Most people don't know this, but this game is essentially Gargoyle's Quest III, with just a different name. It's really a great game. The music is fantastic, and even though this game is VERY short, its still worthy of any SNES collector's collection.

I tottally aggree. This game was suuuch a great game. But some retards decided not to get all the crests and just beat it in three seconds without getting them. BTW i beat all the bossses and have all crests [even the one you need the code for] and i even beat the boss that you only fight with the special crest.

in fact its kinda a rival of sotn because the ghosts n goblins saga is a rival of the castlevania saga

and the firebrand games are like the metroid vania games while the ghosts n goblins games are like the arcade castlevania game

it makes sense because ghosts and goblins is difficult and demon's crest is easy because of all the elixir potions and how much health firebrand has...

i think capcom was making some sort of point in doing so..perhaps (in my own fanfiction) i would intertwine firebrand's and arthur's story together.

but you're right! :) Games are supposed to escape reality which is 3d (thus games should remain 2d). I don't like the 3d garbage of many today's games neither. It was stylish for a certain amount of time (star fox on SNES, wow!) but 2d is not at its end, there should be far more to come, like cartoons - I love 2d cartoons more than 3d cartoons.

I knew about this game back in the day but never got to play it or see it in motion until just now. What a gorgeously made game! So atmospheric visually and musically.

I only wish the main character from ActRaiser 2 (The Master) could fly around like that demon. Then that game would've been less of a pain to play. Trying not glide right off a cliff was highly annoying.

Good ol' Firebrand, I forgot what he was called on Super Ghouls and Ghosts, it was Flyer Ace or something like that. This soundtrack truly rivals Castlvania.

thats pretty true superdrunk4life demon's crest soundtrack diffenitly rivels the castlevania saga music expect the only diffrence between the two while castlevania and demon's crest soundtrack are both gothic soundtrack castlevania music is more rock orianted in a gothic snese while demon's crest is a bit more orchestral sounding without any rock or jazz whatsoever you find in the castlevania soundtracks so all in all the demon's crest music indeed gives the music of castlevania a run

There's only a handful of games featuring Firebrand (I think 4 in total) while Castlevaina has well over 10. Demon's Crest certainly rivaled Castlevaina while it was on SNES, (Castlevania 4, Castlvania Dracula X, where there more?)But Castlvania certainly won in the end. Castlvania has had a few different composers, it might be interesting to compare them over the span of platforms.

Yep, I'd agree too. The thing is, C1-4 had this moody gothic music that really fit the game. Post Rondo of Blood/Dracula X, the music became Rockvania.
